Wow, that's almost unbelievable and definatly a one of a kind find. What's a shame is that it will probably be put in some lawyers vault as an investment piece and not played by a musician who would love it.

They changed the dye in 60. They didn't fade like the 58 and 59 do. Early 60s did because they changed later in 60. That said, it could be early 60 and not have faded as clean as that one is, but I dont think so, when they changed they went to a brighter red like that one is. I knew a guy a few years ago that bought a 58 in even better condition than that one. Only had one small finish check. It sounded phenomenal. Sometimes guitars never got played, Just like now. Someone bought it to learn on, then never did.
