Is getting me fired up to crank up the soldering iron and go to town on my 1959... Lol! Is there a suggested schematic that people prefer? Crap, probably the last thing I need to be spending time on, but what r ya gonna do... Lol!

You need a hat.

I am very, very, very close to having some work done on my Peacemaker. Between the Atomica threads and the PM I got from OBIGYN about his Metro amp '68 build being tweaked by a VH freak and the clip he sent. Dang....... my PM is not feeling very safe right now. I believe it's violation is imminent.

Don't do it! Pick up a nice, old metal panel JMP for 800-900 and start with that...

Have you tried loading down your splawn on low gain, boosting it with your randall plexi module then plugging that into your mojave?

That's the ticket!

I wasn't talking about anything radical; just lowering the screen filtering to 32uf, raising the P.I. filtering to 47uf-100uf, dropping the value of the V1a cathode cap from the 250uf to a 1uf-4uf electrolytic, moving the 250uf cap over to V2 and paralleling it across the .68uf/820 ohms at V2, lowering the value of the V1b cathode resistor form 2.7k to 2.2k-820 ohms, raising the tonestack cap to 560pf, and changing the output couplers to .022uf. That's it; still leaving it a PM; if you wanted to re-sell it, it would be easy to put back stock. I just found mine stiff and dark...wait a tick Steve; didn't I buy a modded PM from you back in 08?

Just do it
Yeah I gotta jump on the metro board and see what kinda damage i can do... Lol!
Why make it sound like a broken amp?

It's the latest craze!!!!  Actually I got 2 amps I love when I use an attenuator. I'd like to have the 1959 work without an attenuator and get it at a little more realistic volume for live shows. I'm not into the whole w/d type of thing. Using a boost and fx loop is about as complicated as I wanna get. Thinking about Yellowjackets too - just run 2 and see how they knock down the volume. Or I could just not be lazy and carry around my attenuator for live shows.

Steve
Why do you have .68 in parenthesis at the presence cap? Is this something you tried?

You have one with an FX loop? If so run one amp into the attenuator, line out into the others fx loop return.

I tried the YJ's in my old UL. They didnt really knock much volume down.

You can try the mv in front of the tonestack and see how that does. I don't think it works that great in the 1959 circuit though.

did you try just 2 YJ's, or did you have 4?

Small world. I modded a PM for Steve....

Was it the one with the 2203 preamp section, PPIMV and lowered filter caps on both mains and screens?

Still have some pics:

Is there a centralized website which contains a good amount, if not all, of info on Jose mods, or is it mostly just word-of-mouth, scattered amongst message boards? I'm assuming the latter. I know a fair bit about Jose, or so I thought.

You could go down the rabbit hole that leads to insanity on the Metro forum, especially the EVH section. I haven't been there in months, mainly because I like it too much. Everytime I start going there I feel myself about to become addicted to what they're addicted to.
