I guess we could put a EQ in the loop of the Sig X and see if they still feel that way, just to make things more the same. Even though I do not feel it would be needed. There is no flavor or style of music the amp does not do .....

Fuck, you guys are makin me think a Sig X would be needed for thee stable. Maybe later. What I can tell you about the UL is when playing in the band it is my go to amp. Crystal clear, tight and focused brootal mofo. I only switch over to my Soldano when I need something loose, less tight, more sag ( really don't know how to describe it) for certain riffs that really require it. The UL really stomps and dominates in a band mix, that is why I love it. I can always hear it. Mine is an 07 with Ruby STR KT88's. It came with 6550's( bought amp used) and really did not dig them much, not bad but I feel 88's are more my thing. When I play the UL without band it is not my favorite but, with band it kills.

Cracks me up, when people say the Sig:X can't do the brootz, thats just funny, unless your trying for supercooped ultra death metal, but that fucker can get brootal as hell.

Guess I'm one of those "supercooped ultra death metal" tone fans then (well, tone from meshuggas bleed is one of my favourites). But I stand behind my first post; in UL there's definition and tightness what I need from amp. Didn't mean to diss Sig x, just to say that in my opinion UL is better in that area.

Everyone has different taste ..... if you feel the UL works better for you I can understand that. But I know people that have a Deliverance, UL and Sig X that like the Sig X better for metal than the other two. It is only a matter of taste.
I use a fair amount of more vintage flavored sounds and agreed about what you said about the Sig X being better for those sounds.
I kind of see the the Sig X as being between the UL and a classic English amp.
If I mostly played drop tune heavy the UL and CLX both work great for that stuff. I think part of that is the graphic EQ.

I know I've a ton of high end amps and the sig x was my favorite, wish I still had it. Never played a UL and the only reason I sold mine was to help fund my M90 which brings me to my next point. I'm agreeing with that other guy, my elmwood sounds Fucking huge. It's the thickest tightest amp I've yet to play, with gobs of low-end! I did notice the sig x while plenty loud wasn't quite as loud as other 100watt heads, however more than you would ever need and held together great at loud volume.

It's okay. I don't really play quiet, so it's not an issue. It's better than the Nitro at low volumes, at least I think so. That loop volume on the Nitro made it sound weird to my ears. I prefer the Sig X around 9:00 and above. I don't generally record anything, ever unless it's with a full band. I could try to put something together this afternoon though.
