Anything by 5 finger death punch gives me ear cancer. Just my opinion but those guys are about the heavy metal equivalent of Nickelback. The main demographic they appeal to seems to be the knuckle dragging Tap Out wearing middle age fat guys that think for some reason they're MMA fighters. God they're so awful.

When fallout boy redid the Ghostbusters theme it was a dark moment in music. I can think of many many dark moments in music that involved a cover. I can think of so many but I would say when that band did a hillbilly techno version of black betty by Ram Jam, it was insulting. It's a hard song to cover for a reason, if you can't play it right, don't.
