Allahu Akbar NYC!

The people that subscribe to this mentality are usually the people that accept no personal responsibility for failures or shortcomings and blame everybody else. I blame the participation trophy mentality for this.

I do think low cost health care should be included as a right (I know, that makes me communist blah blah). Everyone needs it, but you and I have no control over the options we're given. Sure, we can choose a health care plan, but the coverage and cost gets worse all the time. Lose your job, lose your insurance. Plus, the vast majority of medical bankruptcy is from people who have insurance. It's messed up.

I'm not saying socialism is the answer (it isn't). But, wealth inequality should be considered in evaluating the overall health of the economy and society. IMO, it's way out of whack.
Disagree.
I can’t even believe that “wealth inequality” is even a phrase that anyone takes seriously.

It's not a right, nor should it be.
Nothing in the Constitution about health care.
Also- do you think that illegal immigrants using our health care system drives up prices for all of us? Or not?
The system needs some serious reform for sure.
If you think health care is fucked up now, wait until it becomes "a right".

You can blame your Liberal Black Savior, Obammy for that. Health insurance was more affordable, still expensive for some, yes, but cheaper and more easily obtainable until his administration decided they were going to try and tell the medical field how to do things.

Nothing in the Constitution about health care.
Nothing in the Constitution about most of our government. But it has expanded to absolutely ridiculous proportions regardless. The Supreme court has allowed it through all kinds of broad interpretations that clearly go against the ethos of a limited government that the framers had in mind, such as with the interstate commerce clause. Sorry but the constitution is a dead letter.

We have more rights than prob anywhere on earth. Health care is not one of them.
If anything, it should go to the states, like it says right in the Constitution itself.

Yeah I'm not arguing for universal healthcare but what we have now is probably worse. Mandating people buy health insurance, give me a break! What kind of free country makes you buy something you don't want or need?

"Free country" means freedom, not absence of financial responsibility.
Or at least it used to.

I agree that mandating is bullshit. I’m so glad that POS 0bama and his husband are gone!

That administration got around it by claiming it was a "tax".
Changing the meanings of words? That means you know what you're doing is wrong.

What Zohran represents is a complete abomination and betrayel of American ideals and the American way of life......

More on the Woke Left should be alarmed and Americans in general should be alarmed that Socialist Scum like Mamdani and Socialism have taken root in a major American city like NYC IMO.

The ACA has problems. But, it's not true that healthcare was easier for everyone to get before it became law. Ask someone with a pre-existing condition. Republicans never tried to fix that. They have yet to do something better in like, what, 13 years? I don't think either party is capable of fixing healthcare at this point. The lobby is too rich.

My wife had pre-existing conditions since about 1997 and she never had a problem getting insurance. The insurance we have now is allegedly "Very good", but I beg to differ. It's a hell of a lot more expensive since Obamacare too. In 2014 I paid $147/month. Now it's close to $600 and I have a deductible. Mother fuckers.

People were either refused health insurance or forced to pay astronomical premiums because of pre-existing conditions before ACA. Your wife was lucky. Like I said, Republicans have the whole government under their control now. What is their plan?

I agree insurance has gotten more expensive. Our individual deductible is $6k now. It sucks. Not ACA, employer provided.

Amazing..
If your in NYC, you better get out now..
The stupid gullible lefty humans are gonna bring that place to its knees.
But it’s been going on there for a long time.

Makes Giuliana look like a champ.

Let me ask you this (just suspend your experience and political viewpoints for a moment, please) America is the richest, most prosperous and productive nation that has ever existed. We all agree on that, I bet. And, it's because the working class made it so. Without the working class none of this prosperity we enjoy could exist.

How is it that a country this rich cannot provide every citizen with basic healthcare coverage at little or no cost? Why do so many working Americans go into medical bankruptcy, a thing which doesn't exist in any other so-called Western democracy? We're getting screwed and scammed. We're being made to believe that some Americans aren't worthy of basic protections that other countries figured out decades ago while WORKING PEOPLE are the biggest losers in our health insurance scam.

My Aunt, who lived in Toronto most of her life, kept a condo in Florida just so she could get most of her health visits and stuff while in the US. She had money and actually worked in a high level gov job there but ultimately it came down to the long wait times to get an appointment.

Time. Not money.

Mine is employer provided too.

By the way my state has been veto proof red for decades. My wife wasn't refused insurance and I don't know anyone else who was either.

In any case, the pre-existing conditions thing is a no-brainer and should have been the law the whole time. It's the rest of Obamacare that's bullshit. He was supposed to fix it and all it did was make my premiums double overnight and they're triple that now.

When the ACA became law, the cost of employers carrying insurance went up quite a bit yet it was mandated by the Obammy Bill. As soon as employers discovered it was cheaper to pay the fines than carry insurance, they dropped the plans and employees ability to get insurance as a benefit.

I really hope this mayoral candidate is here illegally and gets deported...that said, I'd also like to see him elected in NYC so I can enjoy the reality entertainment of watching New Yorkers getting the results of their stupidity. I want to see all the FAFO results, it may serve as a warning to others of what not to do...though my concern is the locust swarm of fleeing New Yorkers spreading out and bringing their destructive ideas to other areas.
