This is not my video or anything, just thought he did a stellar job of demonstrating the differences.between magnets on the same set of pickups.

Will help me with designing sets for my other guitars with Planet Tone.

What say ye?

Helped me pair certain frequencies with pickups. There is a top end sweetness to the 3s I have on a strat, combined with a certain slap that is in your face.

I thought it was due to pickups being staggered instead of non but listening to this shows me that what I am hearing is inherent with the magnet itself.

I have a guitar with a set I really love with A5s but thought, of I slapped these in another guitar and wanted less of a low mid thickness, what could I do. Welp, go to an A4! And same if I wanted to add a certain mid thickness to A2s, which are pretty bitey.

So glad this is out there.
 
Awesome comparison. I always gravitate to the A2 sound with the juicy mids, makes the pickup sound hot yet dynamic. But I can see any of these working in the right guitar as a way to dial in a brighter or darker axe. Cool stuff!
