I have a pile of amps and a Kemper , but every time I plug into my JVM , I think to myself “ Why don’t I play this amp more!?”. I absolutely love the emulated balanced out on it as well. Am I alone here !?

Yes, you are... :)

Surely I jest. I think a few pros use em, one even put his name on one I think.

I had one for a while (actually two) and definitely liked it. I felt it would be perfect if this or that was slightly different and I always went back to my Voodoo modded DSL. There is a Voodoo modded JVM for sale on Reverb right now that I'd love to jump on, but it's "pickup only" in Nebraska.

I always thought that it was at best mediocre and you can get something better for half the price. I would take a JCM2000 DSL over one- and it's much cheaper.

I do. Mine is modded by Fortin but with a FX8 using midi to change modes green, orange, red its just been a killer setup. I think they messed up the loop on these - my FX8 works fine but I struggled with my pedals so I just use the FX8. Its my #1 now.

I think Santiago was tasked with cramming too much into one amp with the JVM. But with a few mods, they can be great. If they made a 20w version they would make a great all in one bedroom Marshall.

I'm on my second jvm205h and have played in band practice many times with it.. All stock and it cuts through no problem.
Are there better, sure. But it's a great amp.

Love mine. Totally stock. Had 77's in it for along time but switched back years go to 34's.

For me, easily one of the best amps I've ever owned (and I've owned alot from all price points - from Soldano's to Peavey's) so much so I've had little GAS for amps for many years.

But that's me, it fits what I want to do, the sound I want to hear and the feel when I play. Sure, I loved my VHT/Fryette's when I've had them, incredibly built amps and in fact the SigX I owned is right there, one of my faves but I prefer my JVM. I've heard about the hiss, I've heard about the loop...never one issue with mine and I owned two for a long while. One for backup when I gigged, rehearsed and recorded alot back in the day.

Really what any amp or piece of gear is about...does it do what you like? And that is totally subjective regardless of manufacturer. Now to some, the JVM is exactly what it is, a mass produced product which surely cannot be good. What's funny is, another mass produced product that used to take a beating on here has now become one of the benchmarks of metal tone, still used 25+ years later.

Oh well, all I know is I haven't chased the amp ghost for years, leaves me more time and money to chase other things.

I really like the sound of the OD1 Red. It's exactly the kind of vibe I go for as a thrash guitarist. I'll probably never own one because it's a lot of amp for using that one sound, and with my modded 800 I don't really need it.

Personally I would rather have a JSX. I think it's better in most aspects and a third of the price.

I had a JVM years ago and really liked it. Great Marshall tone with ample gain on tap, etc.

I agree with what others have said about having a lower watt version you can crank and use less gain.

I picked up a used JVM 205h for dirt cheap a while back and absolutely love it. The orange channel with gain around 11 o’clock and pushed with EQ and OD pedals sounds majestic, 3D sounding. It just has a depth to it. It’s hard to explain but none of my other amps do that. It sounds dynamic if that makes sense.

I need to posted a recording or something. I will say I think it sounds very bland without being pushed and EQ’d though, but I think most amps do.

That’s pretty much how I ran my 205H when I had it and agree, it’s really good. I’m starting to miss that amp but I just wouldn’t use it. If the 205 combo was a 1X12 I’d consider getting one but I am not dealing with a 2X12 combo. They’re a PITA

I played a 210h and 410h a few times and thought the same thing in regards to the "3D sounding" comment. I thought there were some great thrash tones to be had in there.

However, for $250 the little 8100 Valvestate I grabbed a while back is an even tastier thrash machine ;) Throw an MXR 10 band in the loop crank up OD2 and F%ck!

I've only heard the 410H up-close a few times and recorded it once, but I love it. Only criticism is it's a tad noisy.

For those who own a Kemper, thankfully Profiles of the amp don't exhibit this noise.

I’ve heard the complaints about the noise and the loop , but I’ve owned a few of them over the years , and I have never experienced that.

The Satch JVM is awesome. Way better than the normal JVM. IMO anyways.

I owned a 410H twice, and I regret selling it.... twice....
Killertone has some JVM + Blackmore clips that are insane.

Damn, now I really miss that amp
