For thinking this is a really cool guitar? I've got a korean import '08 ML 79 with the floyd and it is one of the most resonant, and fat sounding guitars. Maybe it's because i'm such a dimebag fan, but I dig the shape of the Dean ML's to.

USA custom shop ML79:

I'm glad i'm not the only one that likes these guitars. Some of the USA made Deans are really fantastic guitars, and some of the korean imports are really not that bad... plus the ML just looks metal as hell!

Korean luthiers are very good. I have an Agile LP that plays as good as any Studio and some Standards I've tried. For 300 bucks.

Most of my collection is weird. USA custom shop dean MLF and Washburn dimebags. Some great tops in the collection. Flamed redwood, quilted maple, cracked mirror, rusted paint jobs....all hot bitches that freaking scream. The USA Washburn dimes are badass,my slime sounds unreal...but you have to be able to get used to the dimebucker.

P.s, I don't own a strat shaped guitar at all.

Nothing wrong with that at all I want a rebal flag myself

The ML is the single most comfortable guitar I've ever played sitting down...they sit at a perfect angle to kick in a chair and record with. Plus it's metal as fuck and not too heavy to play standing up for long periods.

They rule and one of these days I'll make Rottingcorpse an offer he can't refuse for one of his good ones.

Man, i'd love to have a collection like that. Maybe some day? I really wanna washburn slime too.

I had a Dimebucker in my ML for a while, but decided to swap it out for a Bill Lawrence l-500xl, which is much more my cup of tea... it's a little warmer and tamer in the highs. That pickup seems to really love large mahogany guitars, cause it sounds terrible in anything else i've put it in.

The Razorback is a little over the line though, haha. Too many points on that one... The ML is wild looking but still tasteful IMO.

Bought my USA ML brand-new in '82. It was my first real guitar and it still blows away almost anything else I've tried over the years. Dimebag kinda' made it a metal guitar, but I knew I had to have one after seeing Elliot Easton from The Cars holding one in a magazine ad way before that. The shape might be kinda pigeon-holed as metal, but it's a killer mahogany guitar in every respect.

Ya, Dean is kinda stuck as a metal guitar brand now, but it was Dime that really put them on the map, so it ain't really a bad thing I guess??... it's just that they don't get much attention or respect outside the metal circle. It's too bad because Dean's are fantastic rock, blues, anything... guitars.

Personally, I just have a Korean import, but it's still one of the best sounding guitars I have played. It's really fat sounding and resonant, even with the floyd... and this guitar never goes out of tune, which I love. Everything about it I like, and it's making me want to get another.

At first I didn't play the ML that much. I bought it, played it a bit then it sat in it's case for a couple years. About 2 years ago I pulled it out of its case, dusted it off. I had to set it up properly, cause the thing was not playing well... A truss rod adjustment, dropped the action a bit, put some 10 - 50 DR's on it, adjusted the intonation, got a better trem bar with collet put on it, then put a Bill Lawrence l500xl in it... Now the guitar plays and sounds absolutely fantastic! The guitar was just not setup properly when I bought it, so it just didn't play well at the time. Now it is one of my favorite guitars.

Yeah, when I bust mine out at gigs, the Pantera fans and metal heads go nuts. Then I play Cheap Trick or AC/DC on it and folks get a little ornery. That's my only issue with the shape really. I dig it, but Dime really cemented it as a single-genre guitar. I don't care, I still play it for whatever floats my boat because I love the thing. One lady at a gig a few years ago walked up to the edge of the stage, shook her head, pointed at the guitar, gave a thumbs down, then flipped me the bird. I thought about pitchforking her in the neck with the headstock, but she stumbled away too fast. ;)

Would love to have one with a Floyd, glad you're digging yours!

Not at all, I loved mine! Great feeling and playing guitar. I did have to swap out the Dimebucker for a JB and it sounded fat as hell. Wouldn't mind having another one.

I picked up one of these before I got sick several months back. Was going to do a new guitar day but havent gotten to it.
I put a Dimarzio X2N in the bridge and its so damn crunchy tone with that underlining Razor edge.
Korea made....neck thru mahogany body. Really a light bad ass sounding playing guitar.
I actually owned one of Dimebags Personal Washburns. Bought it off Chuck Billy singer for Testament. He got it directly from Dime himself. Both that guitar and this newer one has that "v" shaped neck that feels good to play.
Here is a pic of the Buddy Blaze one and the Dime owned one. Yeah that was Dimebags guitar strap as well. Duct taped up.
The Dime owned guitar was a dark army green with sparkle. Said it was not a factory color but custom only.
