The game changer was Hendrix regardless of the continent. Anybody that was there will tell you so.

I'm going to just throw this out as pure opinion fodder. These four may not have fit the OP of contributions to guitar playing but I'd rather listen to Warren DeMartini, Reb Beach, Scotti Hill, Vito Bratta and Zakk Wyde then most of these guys mentioned anyway :dunno:

Serious question: How old are you?

I always thought Sabo was the lead player in SR????

Funny, I think I just answered that in another thread but I was going to ask why does it matter.

Really I grew up on John Denver, The Mitchell Trio, The Beatles, The Stones and pepperings of Hendrix, and Cream, and The Monkeys LOL. Then as an older kid I was way into KISS and would jump around mimicking Ace Frehley and Paul Stanley who were my guitar heroes. It wasn't until I started listening to Led Zeppelin and Van Halen that my interest in guitar got serious. To bad I then waited 40 years to pick up a guitar. RIght?

I was just saying, for me, I can think of other guitarists that are not on the main list that I would personally rather listen too, so for me - they contributed a lot. For me.

Not sure on the Sabo thing, I think they both took turns on lead and rhythm. Wiki has Scotti as 'lead and rhythm guitarist'.

All I know is:

While Bach was grabbing all the headlines those guys were putting down some insanely wicked stuff.
Got to see them open for Aerosmith and they totally brought it live.
