yeah, feel is VERY hard to convey through clips. hell, tone is hard to convey through clips.

if you tell me some amps that have the right feel and some that have the wrong feel, i'll tell you which ones my amp is like...if i've played them.

like, don't tell me which group is which, just sorta lump some together.

but there again...Everybody "feels" an amp differently...Anything pre 1983 Marshall always feel good, Cameron Modded Marshalls and CCV's are probably the best feeling amps I've ever played (Speaking only for myself) Cornfords also fall into that category. Like you said..it's hard to convey an amps feel via clips or word of mouth. Like I've always said..Whatever amp is being discussed..The only thing that works for me is if I own it...Then I'll know and I really don't care what anybody's opinion of any amp is. I have a buddy that I do alot of trading with and it's basically like this.....If he's trading or selling it....I'm gonna love it everytime!! And He gets an amp from me that I'm not real floored with...He loves it....so...It's all in the hands of the beholder :D

I gotta add that.....I'm no expert on this sort of stuff and just an old 80's type wanker that can't play for shit anymore but....I know what I like...

a tube loop can never be as good as a good SS loop. i know that upsets the tube purists, but it's the truth.
I honestly wish you luck with your Titan amp.

But this statement asks for a "facepalm" - to use the HCAF-kindergarden slang :D

once again olaf, we come to an impasse

to me, the inconsistency of tubes, as well as certain fundamental aspects of tubes like miller capacitance, i don't fell it's possible to make a truly transparent tube loop. that's not to say that a tube loop can't be good, i just think SS loops are more able to be transparent.

to be perfectly honest, i only grudgingly install loops in amps because some people want them. i much prefer the tone and feel of my amp without a loop.

i've never seen or heard a truly transparent loop. if you know of one, i'm all ears.

How can I get in on this pass around? :D

+1

Welcome aboard and put me on the list to send it to. I've owned a couple of good amps and (allegedly) can play a chord or two - seriously I'm interested to try it out. looks sort of SLO'ish ????

so send it to Thump, then have Thump send it here.

Also - I don't know why people bag on Harmony Central, its a great place to search out and learn about the most brutal gamer software and mods to Playstations and Xboxs and stuff. Its a really good place for that.

Thanks ~

yeah, i'm aware of that one. i'm using a different SS loop, though. mine has options like a true bypass and 10dB pad switch.

that one is spoken for, but i can hook you up with one just like it :D

Hey Guys.

I am in on the pass around...and frankly, am happy to be.

I am certainly not a big name...and not part of any clique. Here or anywhere else.

But I do have a good amount of experience with a lot of high end high gain amps...as well as others....and appreciate the opportunity to give my feedback

I will most definitely put the amp through its paces and develop my own opinions. Which I will share...positive and negative (I am confident this is what he is looking for and will use feedback to improve what he is doing (not assuming it needs any improving!).

Hopefully we have another GREAT amp builder to take part in the community!

I think it looks great. nice work, clean layout. will have to give it a listen. Dont let those trolls over there mess with you, that is a no-win situation for you. If you have a good product, that will say everything you need to say  Good luck man

i am joeyinflames on hcforums. zach is a cool dude.

im sure your amps will be successful man. they sure do look great!

Honestly, I would just ignore that guy. Just tell him you're not posting closeups of the work because it is your design but that the amp is on a pass around and those people are free to open it up, take a look and report what they find. I don't think internet pissing matches look good for any company. I know I like it better when amp makers/guitar builders/etc. ignore the haters and only post positive helpful comments. Good luck and I think the amp sounds good based on that clip.

I'm going to record my SLO-Clone later today. I've completely rebuilt it: DC heaters, "my-all-tube-different-to-the-not-so-good-Soldano-loop", Global Master and dumped the clean.
I have to record anyway because I'm trading this one for a JMP 2203.

could you copy an amp from really good gutshots? If he mentined not wanting to steal your design, then that was his intention. you should ask where he is from. Btw the amp clip sounded very good.

to get the kind of shots that i got the idea he was after, yeah you could probably reverse engineer it.

olaf, is the loop you're talking about the one that peter designed?

anyone interested in fx loop design should read a book by London Power... The Ultimate Tone. I believe it has something like 100 pages devoted to fx loop design. *!* I can't find my dogeared copy at the moment, but it's a great book.
