I wanted to share this with you guys,

I made a really quick clip a while back just plugging into the different amps, just a cell phone clip and noodling around nothing fancy, try to listen on a good set of speakers or headphones to hear the differences in the bass response and attack.

first amp is ccv clone
3:10 I get CCM clone dialed in
5:24 Aldrich mod
8:00 Mesa MK IV

have fun

Thanks for posting that Nick. To me the Clone and the Aldrich sounded the closest. More grit and raw. The CCM was more polished and compressed. The Mark was obviously in a different ballpark but gritty and scooped. They all sound good though.

So was the Mark the only one not sharing the same speaker cab?

nice!

All of them went through the 4x12 , i just patched the mk iv in....

my thoughts

with the ccv clone you can really hear the bright cap CLANK and attack , a little leaner in the bottom, more midrange , less gain, the clipping circuits also smooth out and darken the sound a little to.
ccm clone - fast / big / thick tight attack and tons of sustain and sizzle
aldrich - a little more relaxed but similar to the ccm in some ways, a little more natural and calm
mk iv - what an animal , it has a similar quality to the aldrich but I had it set a little more scooped than usual in that clip, but a massive sound as well

Killer Nick, they all sound great. Is that CCM a build of yours? Or one of the 2 out there?

All sound great. Never got my Mk IV to sound like that. Was it modded, boosted or just wide open?

Totally stock plugged straight in , master on like 3.5 / 4 , Pretty heavy scoop on the graphic eq , bass and mid on zero, treble on 10 on the preamp eq, bright pulled put , both gains on 7

So now my CCM GAS is back which really sucks because these things are unbuyable

What are the details on your clone? Didja build it yourself?

Sounds killer dude! Loved the first amp (CCV?) and the Mark IV the best. Just crushing tone.

they are all pretty similar on my iPhone speakers. They all sound great

CCM sounded huge…Aldrich leaner and/or tighter…CCV a nice balance between the two

Good God you're starting my CCV gas all over again they all sound just incredible but I have to say the CCV and The Aldrich were my favorites. How much to build a CCV clone or should that be asked in a personal message LOL

For what it's worth, I just want to reinforce what some of you already know, but maybe not...Nick does FANTASTIC work when it comes to modding Marshalls...I've had him do 2 for me AND he modded a Red Bear for my son as that was part of his grad present.
Nick, I'd like to suggest possibly offering a build or two related to your clips. You'd have the market cornered for amps that do similar tones to your clips...without mentioning exactly which amps I'm talking about. : )

Thanks brother !

As much as I'd love to do it , it would be impossible for me now a days due to my production company and family life. Mods are doable , but doing ground up builds takes alot of time and effort and you know me Tom, I like to turn stuff around quick and get it back to people.

Maybe one day but Def not now lol I'd be down for some mods though. That's easier and much faster! These clone amps were a passion and hobby project that took YEARS and YEARS of poking, tinkering , buying amps, peeking under the hood and so on.

I've come a long way with amps from where I started with my first toaster lol I've gotten better. But still have much to learn to !

I also have to follow my own moral compass and as much as I know MC screwed me and others here. I wouldn't feel right blatantly copying his work and pretending like it's mine as a legitimate business. Everything I've done thus far has been for fun , learning, and tinkering. ....
