I'm not sure if it's brand specific or else I would have put "Splawn problems" and emailed Scott or something but an issue has come up on my Quick Rod the last couple weeks where plugging in, even straight into the amp, sounded like when you touch the end of a guitar cable that's plugged into an amp and makes that crinkling sound, you know? Since I've been busy I've just been using my Micro Terror for at home but today I had some free time to see if it's still not working and I didn't hear the original problem instead it sounds like it's going from a really quiet "solid state" sounding amp (kinda like how it sounds when the volume is essentially off) to sounding normal then back down, then normal again... I'm uploading a video to YouTube right now of me showing the problems, should be up in about half an hour, but I was wondering if anyone has experienced this on any of their amps before?

Just for some maybe useful but not likely info I've tried multiple guitars and multiple cables then tried those on my Micro Terror and that worked fine. I'm running half power and all 8 tubes seem to be in working order (since it's a volume thing I'd think it's more a power tube thing but they are looking like they are working).

EDIT: Here's the video

Try pulling outer tubes and putting them in the two center positions

Odd...

So per Lord Toneking I switched out the tubes, leaving what were the inner tubes off and what were the outer tubes in the inner spots. Instead of fluctuating it remained in that compressed gainy thing no matter how much I turned up and switching channels, turning solo boost on/off... I then decided to switch to full power and boom full loud tube-ness and I turned back to half and it's stayed in tube-ness

I'm letting the current tubes cool off now to see if the old ones still work now but weird switching the half/full power switch did that

when you switch to half power turn off stand by you may have a week tube all four must be mathched set to sound right get single 12 to practice with the amp will not sound right at half power

the crackling sound is the jacks or cable crust on the tip of the cable my slo-50 clone started to make a lot humming pulled the preamp tubes still hummed was going to tap el34s shifted the tubes in the sockets it stoped
