No I mean, it's obvious....he needs a metal amp or an amp that'll saturate to a degree he's happy with. BUT to get a good recording is more about the audio engineering method than the amp

to record?....... Axe Fx

like nbarts says, it's about the skills not the amp

Yeah, man. We need to tell Cannibal Corpse, Suffocation, Dying Fetus, etc. to quit playing those overly saturated amps and use just AC30s. After all, it's all about skill and not the amp, right?

Suffocation And Dying Fetus used Ampeg VH 140 c's on a couple of albums. DF still does.

I disagree, its about equal parts. if the amp is shit and engineer is great, its still gunna sound like shit.

BACK to the question.
I'm pretty sure all the amps you own(aside from the jc)
can do thrash tones with the right tweaking and layering.

I was thinking that all along, but was afraid to tell it :D

i don't like putting my name on a polished turd....

take a step back, watch classic album the black album.

even tho black isn't consider a thrash disc, they speak on previous record.

trash was ment to be multi tracked. mid high gain slightly bright tone double tracked sounds HUGE!!
