Hey kidjazz, hockey allegiances put aside, are you anywhere near Ottawa? Your avatar is making me drool and is making my incoming Kemper froth at the mouth!

I bet they were more careful handling it like that, then if it were in a box ;)
I was thinking the same thing! At least then the shipper knows its fragile electronic equiptment, I always right fragile on the box with arrows etc but they don't give a shit.

Somebody sent me a '78 JMP head in an oversized box once. Nary a whiff of packing material. Just the amp in big box. About 4 inches of empty space all around. Must have been quite a ride for the amp.

So naturally I complained to the seller. "Not my problem, I dropped it off at the local pack and ship store".

Called the pack and ship store, "Oh, we would never pack it that way".

This was back in the day before eBay's hardcore seller protection that everybody bitches about.

That's exactly what I thought! Had it been in a box they would have been chucking it around, dropping it off loading docks, etc. When they saw it was a delicate piece of sound equipment with casters I'll be it got rolled on the casters and strategically placed out of harms way in the trailers.

I had a guy ship me a 4x12 by just taping cardboard all around it. Thing looked like it had been throw out of a plane about 10 times. Which is probably exactly what happened.

People just need to learn how to pack an amp. I have paid the seller extra to have them properly packed. If I get one floating in a bed of ghost turds, the seller will get an e-bitch slap.... :D

But, I buy from people I know and trust, and respect the buyer enough to pack properly. Anything else is unacceptable.

Yeah, but I bet it also has a higher chance of "getting lost" in shipment like that...

LOL.. yah.. the Kemper thing has my interest piqued as well. That pile of stuff is in Edmonton. theres another pile of it where I live and work. (also in Ab).
Im planning on a major amp fest this spring/summer at the studio. Ill keep you posted. maybe u and casey can make it out here.
I have about a months worth of work for the rack guru..... LOL.

I should have explained my WOW.... I met Gar Gillies back in the day. I would be curious to hear his thoughts on the anal retentiveness that having one of his tanks shipped sans box caused.
As a fellow canadian you have probably heard the story of Pete Traynor dropping his prototypes off the stage risers. If they survived then perhaps mass production could be considered.

Made in canada eh!

Funny, that's how we test our containers that ship nuclear metals! If you drop 'em, kick 'em, punch 'em and set 'em on fire and they still work you can chuck the maple leaf on 'er :)
Keep me posted on the ampfest, I'm guessing no one else needs to bring anything :)

possibly Fake, the EXIF data shows the image was taken in 2008?

although it says 1/1/2008, which means the date just may have never been set...
