My Verellen Skyhammer is at the rehearsal space, which is in my drummer's basement. I can't play it because of quarantine. I was recording guitar tracks over there and I have everything mic'ed up. I had one part to finish, but I can't go over there. I wish I could get my guitar and amp back. Perhaps my pedalboard too. I'm going through withdrawal.

Man that's rough. My studio has been broken down for weeks since we moved to a new house. Just now getting it all up and running. Been going stir crazy.

New house as well (as I eluded to in another thread), I don't know when I will be able to get a studio desk up. Nice preamps and mics just sitting there collecting dust I guess!

I've been dealing with cabin fever a little differently - I had been using my AxeFx thru my KRK 8's, but thought I'd "scratch the itch" by doing some new amp software, and just got BIAS FX 2 Pro. Can't wait to log off for the day and dive in! Got a new guitar (or two) just begging for some attention as well!!

join the club...my EVH is down, needs service, my only amp....I've downloaded a bunch of sims to try, STL Tonehub, Nueral stuff, Roots Fluff....I just can't do the sims...latency drives me nuts. They seem fun for about 30 minutes, then its over....I just look at my EVH in the corner and get sad.

I need to check out the Neural DSP stuff... The Fortin plug-ins sound amazing from the demos I'm seeing.

I just got a new laptop with an i7, and 8gb of ram.
So I figured what the hell and got a new interface to try some of these new plugins.
The Neural DSP fortin amps are really really good, awesome actually.
I retuned my laptop for best performance, and after some fine tuning I’m actually blown away.
I’m a hardcore tube amp guy. I’m just playing through headphones.
But I’ve tried the fortin NTS and nameless, the new omega plugin, and I’m demoing the archetype: nolly.
After 3 hardcore days of getting my head wrapped around it and fine tuning. It’s fucking awesome to be completely honest!
I had a kemper for a while also, the neural stuff is superior to me. Best digital thing I’ve tried.

Christ,
Don't want to sound mean but just have him put it outside right before you get there. Wipe it down quickly with a disinfected rag.
Load it and be on your way

No one said you cant leave your house for essentials

I second the Neural plugins. They're pretty great. I bought the Nolly one after demoing. Bunch.

Or if you have quarantined yourself because you are sick or might have covid, then have him drive it over and put it on your front door, yard or driveway, then get it when he leaves.

Nobody is sick. He's just paranoid.

The reason I can't have him set it outside is because I set it all up to record right before the SHTF. I need to fi ish tracking a part before I tear it down, and he won't let me over to record.

If I finish that part, I can tear down the mics and take EVERYTHING home to finish on my own. I need to get over there to finish tracking to do so.

just tell him to quit being a douche and leave the amp on the porch as you drive up and call it a day.

Hey dude, wanted to ask if any of the Neural plugins were able to go toe to toe with the Wizard MCII that you have (had?)? Talking fair comparison on the monitoring front, perhaps headphones or monitors, and focusing on the raw, aggressive, uncompressed, midrange grind and growl that the MC has.

I just got a MTL MKII last week while also accumulating a MCI and Mark IIC+ all over the past 6 weeks. I also have a Neural Quad Cortex preorder on the way at some point. Can't keep everything and am thinking the MTL is all I really need. It is definitely blowing me away as I get to know it. But the Modern Classic has something special in the midrange that the MTL does not seem to be able to do that I would miss. So I was hoping that some of these Neural plugins could do justice on covering off on that territory. I do a lot of my jamming through IRs with FRFR monitors (two Atomic CLRs) or headphones when I don'twant to disturb the family, but I also have a solid state power amp in the Boss Waza TAE to run digital stuff through my cab. So got all of the bases covered as long as one of the plugins could keep me from bitching and moaning about not having a Modern Classic on tap. Was waiting to get the QC before running through demos.

I've been playing a roland micro cube with an alesis nanoverb, and ge-7 in front of it, through headphones because i have 3 kids, and the only time i can play is when one of them is napping. i also have a plastic fence like contraption around my gear so they don't fuck with the settings. CRY ME A DAMN RIVER! lol
