Please use Headphones, or Monitors aka Speakers.
Straight in with an AKG D-112 in front of the 8x10 recorded on low Volume.
I kept it totally raw, except for a Tape Presence Plug-in and a Maximizer on the Sum.
I kinda prefer it to the overcompressed stuff of nowadays, but i'm not sure. The Loudness War is still a thing.
The Intro Bass has the same volume as in the Mix.

Sounds cool. For some reason I’ve never tried mic’ing my bass cabs, always went direct, but I think I’ll give it a shot

What mic do have for miking?

i have all sorts of shit i guess i could use, my soyuz bomblet, neuman tlm102, my audix kick and tom mics, Lewitt 340, md421 ive seen people use. one rainy day ill have to try some things

I used to use an SM58 to mic bass way back when. It wasn't ideal but worked well enough. I did find a mic suited for kick drum or floor tom worked better at capturing the low end. I don't have a recommendation on a specific one though.

Sounds great. I like the hint of growl from the SVT.

I think the AKG D-112 is the one.

For me it's 57 on Guitars, AKG D-112 on Kick and Bass. But any mic will work.
