Looking to hear from people who own/use Ampete amp switchers... crazy gas action for an Ampete 444. Are they worth the money? Anyone ever have problems with them? Any issues with the shared fx loop? Is there anything better with an fx loop?

I've been eyeing one of these as well. Looking forward to some reviews from some RT'ers.

Very interested in others comments on this as well. Especially as it relates to the shared loop.

I have the 222 switcher and can't say a single bad thing about it....it's smart, sounds good (or I should say it's transparent), functions flawlessly and I's one of a kind! no switcher out there matches its functionalities...the shared fx loop chain for post preamp fx is just priceless.

Brunetti did the same thing about 15 years ago. It's called the Brunetti Matrix. Switch 3 amps into one common post preamp FX loop and then into one (or two cabs). It also switches 3 common pedals in front of the amps. Can be found used for cheap.

I have used these a million times and they simply work perfectly all the time.. no issues ever. Great product.

Thanks Dave!
That's all I needed to hear.

I am going back and forth between Ampete and Kahayan switchers. I want one for the home studio.

Totally  Thanks Dave!

Y'all may want to check these out

$799 and $999 respectively

The Ampete stuff DOES look killer though and I know the Two Notes guys are big fans.

I remember seeing those JerEvil, and yeah the price makes it more tempting... but no shared fx loop right? I know it sounds lazy as fuck but having to bust out a flashlight and reading glasses (yeah im getting old) to hook up the fx loop might be worth the ampete for me.

My board minus the incoming Zuul

Wow, the Ampete 4x4looks to be perfect. The thing that I’ve always wanted was to be able to have 1 fx loop chain (eq, delay, Reverb, etc...)and be able to share that between amps when switching. Most all others that I’ve seen will only allow you to switch the amps and cabs, but you’d have to have each amp setup with its own fx loop effects. I never wanted to have to buy a bunch of different reverbs and delays for that. Having an fx loop to share between each amp is the shit. Expensive, but I think I’ll be grabbing one of these.

The Kahayan looks good, but no way to share an fx loop between the amps that I can tell.

Yeah the effects loop can be an issue.

I use the Torpedo Studio and can add effects post through it like I was adding at the recording desk so not an issue for me, but now you have me thinking the Ampete may be the way to go...

I just ordered one from eBay from theMusicZoo. Was just about to click pay from the seller on Reverb (gearheaddistibution) but noticed that the shipping on Reverb was from Denmark vs the ebay guy was New York... they are priced the same though with the shipping added but NY is faster to me :D Wish me luck guys! And thanks for all the feedback!

Nice! Interested to hear your thoughts when you get it.

Did you order the 444? The 88S doesn't seem to do the Effects Loop thing...

Yup the 444. I saw that the 8's don't have an fx loop. too bad, in the middle of possibly acquiring a VHT UL which would be amp number 5 lol

I could use and Ampete 2x1, but I can't find anywhere to order one... Any ideas?

Steve
