I should not be bitching about my 8+ hours behind the wheel as you had several more by far and I thank you for doing it as it is not the same without you being there That is why I for one had no interest in taking out the Q3, I really enjoy the almost family atmosphere that happens during these ampfests. Monster manlove in the air When Kage and I were driving back to the city we spoke of amps for maybe 5 minutes, the rest was seeing who knew more about cream sauces and Reaganomics and childcare places.

That is the cool thing about the different players there, Mike's amps were rung out with Jazz, shred, chug, shit even some slap guitar and being played by professional musicians like Carl. The thoughts of each amp are coming from a diverse group for sure. Kage started playing Journey through the Cali and holy shit Neal would have had the checkbook out with no amount filled in

What do the 6irth and 6rind knobs do on the NATAS ?

To get technical, they are frequency selective gain controls. They add/subtract gain at predetermined frequencies, allowing the player to really fine tune the gain structure. Then the 6ain control determines the overall gain.

The Evil Pumpkin has these controls. Having had the amp for almost a year, gigging and rehearsing it with it constantly, I can say that these controls are extremely useful. Just like thegame said, they target specific frequencies and add gain at those frequencies, then the gain knob controls the entire gain, including the gain that was added by the girth and grind. Think of them as frequency specific pre-gain gain controls, if that makes any sense. They are very sensitive and you can dial in a ton of sounds just by adjusting them.

Welp. I tried to make it out, but my car navi was set to minimize major highways... so I spent 2 .5 hours taking every back road Everytime I would get on the turnpike, navi said to get off. After ending up in Jersey City, I decided to turn around and go home. Of course I "thought" that was a good idea...but now I am SITTING in stopped traffic on the NJ Turnpike watching the truck lane cars fly by Fun day indeed

Dave, you were missed at the amp fest. Hope to see you around X-mas. I'll give you a buzz soon. I hope your daughter's Birthday party went well. I always need a Scotch after a kids party....much like riding the volume on amps all day

great time today guys!

I'm Really glad i finally got to play and check out Mike's amps. Mike is a class act , and a hell of a nice guy. It was really cool chatting with you Mike... I would have to say that for sure my favorite amp out of all of Fortins would have to be the bones. To me i vibed more with it, and I loved the way it filled the room.

It was great to finally meet you as well I really enjoyed hearing you play through all the amps. You're an awesome player Your face said it all once you plugged into the Bones. I was great to see that many players gravitated to different amps. That was a main goal to offer up different sounding models

I thought the natas was a killer amp, super fast, great articulation and saturation. Really nice job, although i'd really like to hear it with all EL34's

I think it would have been a bit more up your alley completely loaded with EL34s as well.
Hopefully I'll see you at the next get together at X-mas, we'll experiment with output tubes this time around since we've never done that at the amp fests.

The meathead was insane lol just so many damn tones it left my head spinning...

Haha, at first it seems overwhelming but after you get familiar with it, it is pretty straight forward, especially with the new front panel layout with all voicing switches midi programmable.

Mike's Cali modded plexi was fantastic and It really had a great feel and tone to it...

Glad you dug it, the Jose circuit is so much fun.

In regards to the ccv, i just realized that my power tubes are FRIED! i knew it was missing a little something today, but thought it was just the room maybe...In regards to my Aldrich plexi, It is simply the best cameron mod i've ever played / owned / or heard Period. It Dominates...

Well, it still sounded excellent with the fried power tube

I have to say.
All the amps killed.
My favorite by far was the Meathead.
If I played heavier stuff, the Natas would be it.
That amp just crushes with the down tuned stuff.
It also has a great clean and mid gain.
Punch you in the face tone.
I think the Aldridge Cameron crushed the CCV.
The CCV was nice, but didn't blow me away like the Meathead, Bones and Natas.
Great amp, but more of a vintage vibe.
It had a little too much sizzle on the top end for me.
The Meathead is the real deal, and I am buying one, no questions asked.
It covers more ground than any amp I've played.
Even at the highest gain settings, every note is crystal clear, and that fucker moves air
Amazing bunch of amps and people.

Great time at the Fortin ampfest ... good to see all you fellows again, and to meet the first timers! Had a blast jamming on all the amps. Would agree with what most said here about the NATAS. Very aggressive and biting amp. More modern voicing ... sounds fantastic for the metal tones. I was still able to get an awesome "rock tone" out of it ... and Mike dialed in a nice "liquid lead" tone for me too. While the amp may favor the Metal tones, it is still a very versatile offering with a very nice clean tone. Just another brilliant amp in the Fortin arsenal. Thumbs up. Think I will be going for the entire collection!

For the players looking for more versatility it is hard to beat the Meathead ... and for me, that is still the Fortin flagship. Bones is also awesome of course ... and has been my main recording amp for the past year.

Scott's Cali mod ruled ... I didn't get to jam on it myself, but several of the guys demoed it, and it just sounds awesome.

I did get to jam a bit through Nicks Cameron CCV, and really enjoyed it. Did have a very vintage vibe to it ... cleans were very cool. Very sparkly .... the amp had many tonal options. Wish I had more time to fool with it.

I should be getting my Meathead soon .. please stand by for some detailed product demos on the Meathead! Coming to a theater near you soon.
