Amplifire 3 Vs Tonex

Heya,

I have an Amplifire 3 that I am going to use with my Boogie Mkllb into the return. I know they have no support anymore, and some "Issues reported" about longevity. thinking about flipping it while it still works, (It's loaded with the recent custom packets from the website and works fine) for a Tonex.

I really dig the sounds, the Plexi, Soldano and Fender patches sound really good to me. Are the Tonex Patches as good/Comperable in quality? I know there are 1.5 Million to choose from, I'm looking for "Generally a good comparable, or no, the Amplifier had something special going on".

Your thinking, WTF into a Mkllb...

I'm having it modded with a switchable insert post Loop. End goal, Mkllb+, that I can switch over to Amplifier or Tonex, for all the additional tones available. The "Swiss-army modeler option into a wicked power section". All controllable via Midi amp and modeler. (Hence these two pedals).

did you get the ToneX at the end? I do have an AF3 that I use in the same way through the loop of my ancient H&K Tube 20, and dig very much the

tones, but I'm curious about what ToneX could do...

I watched some YouTube videos and dig the sounds on them, but I know that entering in the world of captures is another rabbit hole to get myself into...
