Amps with some guys name on them....

Hell yeah. I was thinking the same thing.
 
I never paid attention to it, but most of my gear brand names are based on last names. Probably at least 75%.
Moog, Marshall, Gibson, Parker, Bogner. Anderson....etc.

I have a synth with the designer's first and last name......Dave Smith Prophet 8. That said, he got his old company brand name back a short time ago so his products will probably use the brand name "Sequential" going forward.

I have a few that aren't. Mesa Boogie, Korg.
 
The one that always got me was the amp company out in Seattle I think it is, the have the 'Meat Smoke' head I think or something like that. Also have the 'SkyHammer'. His new amp head coming out is the 'WeedToke'. A head exclusively for Stoner Rock.

Kind of off topic but did you use an attorney for trademark, or do it yourself? I am going through this now. I was considering Legal Zoom.

I used Legal Zoom. If the govt rejects you though, you need an attorney...

this is seriously like the last thing I would ever think about when buying an amp.

yeah, loved the "dull" thing.

kirk also used to have a marshall cab, with some black tape it read asshole... ;)
