Yes I definitely do. I have had some friends like that, atheists all. My best friend, an atheist who often gave me crap about my faith, was hit by a car walking while drunk and killed. I had to listen to those idiots at the funeral "he's in a better place now". Had to bite my tongue pretty hard on that one. All of a sudden when tragedy strikes you draw close to God. It's human nature though. I wouldn't write your buddy off just yet.

He just turned 62 and he's a good dude. Funny as fuck, likes to fish, hunt, shoots pool all the time and gets his drank on. For some reason he dogs christianity. Will not say shit about any other religion. Not sure if he got buggered by a priest or what....

I knew a guy who hated Christ, hated Church, all the same stuff as your buddy. Turned out his parents were party animals, bought him rock n roll records, let him party at home. One day they became Jehovah's witnesses. Tossed all his records, made him tear down all his posters.Party time was over. It left a bad taste, understandably. Misguided zealotry never has good results.

Perhaps the Lord has put this friend there more as a test for you more than for him?

Gives you time to think it over. Might come to nothing. Dude could show up and be apologetic, you just never know. Like I said, the huge chip tells me this weighs on his mind daily so be easy with your buddy if you run into him. You can always tell him you're there for him but you won't listen to him disrespecting you like that. If everyone is drinking I would avoid that scene altogether myself.

A hindu woman once called me a redneck asshole for making her pay for a chair rental. I wear that compliment as a badge of honor to this day. I enjoy hillbilly life. Redneck, hillbilly, goat roper, shitkicker, grit, etc. All good by me. I'd probably get the jasper treatment if I was there.

you would have a fucking blast and laugh your ass off if you were there.....good food, good drank.....some of them partake in the herbage also...Good solid group of very successful dudes...except for one or two....

Sounds like a really good time. I would like to see that part of the country one day. A lot of resources there, wood to cut, water to drink, game to eat always attracts my interest. I just don't want to buy out there and find out I'm down-aquifer of some place they ripped the mountain top off and didn't repair properly and now leaks toxic waste into the ground water.
 
back in the 80's there was a family that got the ole typhus.....come to find out they were drinking garandmaw and grandpaw....the family cemetery was above their well....stupid mofo's.....

Yeah I can see the pockmarks all over google maps especially in the southern regions of WV and eastern KY.

that's what we call the coalfields. The appalachians are the oldest mountain chain in the world. Lots of isolated areas here. Look at a google image of west virginia....especially at night....
