Anyone have any favourites of chorus they like before the gain of their amplifier?

Im trying to go for the early ozzy Zakk type of Boss tone without needing to grab a vintage CH1. I know he went to racks for a bit but before that was simple boss pedals.

Any favourites that don’t sound thin/line 6 like?

Obvious choice but either the blue MXR chorus pedal or the ZW MXR chorus. I had a ZW version and it sounded good in front of a gainy amp. The tech support guy at MXR told me their blue analog chorus is the same circuit.

I use the Blue MXR analog chorus in front of my amps for this. It sounds great

This. I do the same thing for the same reason with the same pedal. It works awesome.

Most chorus units I put in front of the gain stages of an amp seemed to mute the highs/presence and blanket the harmonics. Recently, I have had fantastic results putting a Mooer Pitch Box thru the loop or after the gain stages if using an AIB pedal in front of the amp.

In front of an amp?

I didn’t think he used an spx90 live much?
No, in a loop or W/D or W/D/W

IDK how much live use it got, but that’s what’s on the albums. The Rockstar soundtrack too it sounds like.

I used the blue MXR chorus also with several different rigs great chorus. Analogman is about the best I've heard but also expensive.
