Analog delay.....which to try?

I tried a Carbon Copy recently and thought it sounded great. More natural and warmer than digital.

My main rig uses a G-Major 2 for delays. I am putting together a small board for my "B" rig. I have two old DD-5's that I was going to use (one for short subtle delays and the other for thicker/longer delays). I am going to replace the DD-5 for subtle delays with something anolog.

Besides the Carbon Copy, what others should I be looking at. I would like to keep the footprint as small as possible.

I got rid of my DL4 and got two Flashbacks. Saved alot of room on my board by doing this and I still have two killer delay sounds. The splillover on the flashbacks work great for seamless transitions between pedals

My only gripe is that I wish my settings could be stored to where the knobs are inactive

I've moved from the carbon copy to the wampler faux analog echo and couldn't be happier. I would definitely recommend checking it out.

What do you think the sonic difference is with the Wampler?

El Capistan is hands down the best that I've come across. Its not truly analog but you'd never know it.
The Way Huge Aqua Puss is cool for short, warm sounding delays.

El Capistan is hands down the best that I've come across. Its not truly analog but you'd never know it.
The Way Huge Aqua Puss is cool for short, warm sounding delays.

So is the Carbon Copy true analog and the El Capistan digital?

Another vote for wampler faux analog echo. Carbon copy is great too but the repeats are a bit dark. That's a nice sound but the wampler has a tone control the let's you determine how dark or bright you want the repeats to be. Both sound great but I like the flexibility of the wampler.

You might also check out a mad professor deep blue delay, it's a mix of digital and analog I believe, but sounds like a very
nice analog delay with a small size also. I've got it and the tc flashback as well.

I think thats one thing I liked about the Carbon Copy was that the echo didn't sound like an exact copy and was smoother (less harsh). To dial this in and out is a nice feature.

It looks like so far the Wampler is going to be at the top of my list.

EWSEthan pretty much nailed it, the tone control lets you roll off the high end on the repeats like the carbon copy does but the repeats retain the clarity. I think it has a lower noise floor as well. It's a very nice pedal.

I was a big fan of the Carbon Copy, but the Wampler Faux Analog Echo was a game changer! Such a beautiful sounding echo. Very natural and crisp, not digital sounding at all, lots of options. My Boss DD-3, DD-5, Line 6 DL-4 and MXR Carbon Copy stay in my pedal drawer now. I can't speak highly enough of it. I'm aiming to pair it up with a Flashback now for some extra variety, but I know the Wampler is number 1.

I have owned the Wampler Faux Analog Echo and it was a great "analog" sounding digital delay. I regret selling it. I also would recommend the Maxon AD999 for a true analog delay. Really nice sounding delay, but the box is a little big. My hands down fav is still the EL Cap...

I really wanted to go with a true analog pedal (just to have a different flavor) but many of you are really praising the Wampler and the El Cap. I am going to have to give these a try.
