Yes it was a marvel that operation warp speed was able to produce a potential viable vaccine in such a short time frame. Trump has every right to brag about that. It usually takes years to to get to something that's remotely viable. Given the circumstances, there wasn't anything inherently wrong with giving the covid vaccine emergency use status. Many medications are granted emergency status (or equivalent) for patients with dire illnesses and no other options.

That's not the problem with the vaccine. The core issue was the government in many cases taking away people right to decide if they wanted to take the vaccine or not. It took away the public's ability of risk assessment and decision making. Not to mention all the lies they pushed like vaccine efficacy or even how a vaccine works. Anyone with a working brain and basic knowledge saw through that.

Trump may have gotten the ball rolling on the vaccine being produced, but it was the Biden administration and the left who took away the public's rights. If not with outright mandates, with massive government backed pressure campaigns to demonize those who chose/would choose not to take the vaccine.
I believe if the government and CDC were more transparent and honest about everything, more people may have willingly taken the vaccine. But once you lie, cloud everything in doubt and try to force something on people (aka take away their freedom of choice); of course you're going to get massive pushback.
