Here ya go folks. Same settings, same everything except the pickups themselves.

Anderson H3:

Motor City Custom Afwayu:

Everything is through the following setup; BB Super Sport Od->Framus Cobra (Lead channel)->VHT FB 4x12 cab.

-Ans-

They sound similar to me until the start-stop chugging part around 1:20, at that point the Afwayu sounds better to me.

sounds like wasted time changing out pickups.  both sound good and both sound the same, because you are the player and you will sound pretty much the same through most any decent equipment,. this gear thing is a complete mindfuck.

thorugh the cam corder mic they sound identical to me,

I just slightly prefer the Afwayu, they are very close those. The Afwayu seems a touch warmer and with just a little more mids. The H3 has kind of an edge to the sound that I didn't like as well. I had an H3 in a strat and found I liked the H2+ better, but I am not the metal player you are....

+1 Seems like the Afwayu has a touch more lowend on the chugging part. Very close though

Same here.

Prefer the H2+ to the H3 by a bunch.

Have not looked at the other replies, I liked the motor city due to more upper mids. Tad more articulate to me.

Nice playing

Thanks guys.

For the time being, I'm thinking the MCP is going to stay in the guitar. I stuck the H3 in another guitar of mine that has been sitting without a pickup for a while now because of a bad transaction and buying a faulty pickup from some user on another forum. :gethim: But anywhooo...I dig the MCP. I'm still working with it because it is pretty toppy, but the note to note/string to string clarity and articulation is really awesome. The FEEL of the top end is really awesome and very liquidy for leads and such, which is something I didn't enjoy with the Anderson. The Anderson is really stiff on the top end which to me, doesn't make the elades feel and smooth and expressive. So yeah, for the time being at least...the MCP stays. I have a feeling I'll be going back to Wade for more pickups in the future as his customer service is second to none that I've experienced.
