I have a Fender contemporary tele, recently bought this guitar back. I currently have the stock neck and a SD trem spaced JB in the bridge. I have a Anderson H2+ in the bridge of my strat and I really like, it splits well too.

What pickup would match well with the H2+? Any idea how the Tom Anderson neck pickups split?

Here is a picture of the guitar. Not sure on the wood, guessing Basswood. Could be Alder though, it is a heavy guitar, so not sure which wood that makes it more likely to be.

I have an H1 in the neck of my Drop Top and it splits very well. I love it.

i use Mesa Boogie Hollywood, they're cheaper than Gibson's link unless prices have went up.

also one place cheaper than Boogie, but don't remember who?

I ordered an H1 for the neck position of my drop top. July can't get here soon enough.....

I think I am going to go with the H1- and H2+. The description of the H1- says its a little clearer than the H1. This contemporary tele can be a bit muddy, so I figured any added clarity would help.

H1- is the right way to go IMO...I use it with the H2+ and they're perfectly balanced

Anyone ever try a H1+ in the neck and H2+ in the bridge?

Finally got the pickups in the guitar H1- and H2+. Keep in mind I am still tweaking the pickup heights.

The H2+ sounds like I expected, which is good. It has more clarity than the JB I had in there and seems more balanced. I also think the H2+ splits really well.

As for the H1-, I like it so far. Its a deeper pickup than the stock pickup so it can only go down so far before it bottoms out on the pickup cavity. I have it adjusted just a bit higher. It sounds full and thick. I like it for clean, but I don't like it as well for gain. Clearer than the stock neck pickup, but not as sweet sounding. So far not really liking it split, but I didn't like the stock neck split much either. I may try adjusting it a little higher, don't want to go too high though.
