I'm curious about the H2+ and H3. Are these alnico or ceramic?

How do they compare to a JB ? I'm looking for something pretty hot (14-17k) but with a smooth top.

And I have never used a ceramic mag pickup that I like except for the Dimarzio Super Distortion. So ceramic is out of the question.

I'm 99% sure that they both have ceramic magnets

all that matters is that they'll kick the shit out of 99% of every other pickups ass!

the H2+ is by far my favorite pickup, and the H3 isn't too far behind.

the H3 is a little hotter than a JB, and the H2+ is about the same or a little less hot. both of them make the JB sound like a trashy toy!

I can't give you technical details, but I've yet to hear a humbucker that sounds better than my Anderson H2+.

Yeah....I agree 1000% with you bro. I've had H2+'s and H3's in several guitars and they've yet to disappoint. The H2+ is a bit fatter sounding to my ears while the H3 is just a smoking pup. Just hot enough IMO...

The H3 is in the bridge position of my GMW superstrat and it smokes! I used that guitar in the youtube clip in my sig

I had an H3 and currently have an H2+ in my Fender strat. The H3 was a little hot for me, hotter than a JB. I wished the H3 had a little more mids. The H2+ seems to be about right, it is right around the hotness of the JB, seems to be clearer and doesn't have that cocked wah sound I sometimes heard in the JB (which I had in this same strat too).

I am actually really curious what the specs are on the Anderson pickups, especially the magnets....

Would the H2+ fit in a PRS Singlecut SE? Or is just pretty much spaced for Anderson guitars?

I can't see why it wouldnt fit in the PRS :)

Hi all all 3 of these are great H2 (my fav) H2+ and H3, they are my favorite pickup as well, I have put them in PRS' and they fit just fine. The h2 is probably the closest to the JB but better

I have an H2+ in 4-5 of my guitars...it has been my main pickup since 1988. I believe it's ceramic but don't let that influence you...forget what you "know" and try it out...let your ears decide. I would say it's similar in output to a JB with a much smoother top end and punchier mids with a tighter bottom. It's hands down my all time favorite.

Do you guys play Anderson guitars, or just prefer their pickups? I've been very intrigued by the Cobra for some time....just limited clips available and hard to track one down to demo.

The H2+ and H3 are both ceramic. The new HC and HF pickups are Alnico. The H3 and H2+ are two of my top three favorite humbuckers with the H3 being top and the Anderson HN2+ being right behind it.

In my Andersons, I have an H2+, an H3, & an HN3+ in the bridge positions. ALL are great.

I have an h3 in a PRS Eagle, it smokes, but after the world class pup shootout, I'm very interested in trying 2 more before its resolved. the pole pieces in the Andersons are so huge, they will work in a ton of spacings.

I've got a HN3/H1 set in my PRS Custom 24, and an HN3+ in my Hamer. They smoke any Dimarzio or Seymour Duncan I've tried. I love my Rio Grande's for more of a vintage flavor, but the Andersons are incomparable for all else.

Get and H2+ or H3 in the bridge and you are in the zone. I use them in every guitar except my Melancon

I put an Hn3+ in my Jackson. It's insane. Super hot. I have had this pickup a while and still not sure if I love it or hate it.

That pickup is smoldering. I use one in my Carvin DC127. The guitar is all maple, so it's bright by nature. The HN3+ is hot but tames the top end to my ears.
