Hi ppl,

I'm looking at making another significant purchase and need some advice.

I currently have two Andersons- a Cobra T and a Classic HSH.
I'm looking at getting something with a floyd.

I've narrowed the search down to either an Anderson Droptop Classic or a Suhr M6- both with a floyd.
I've been playing Anderson's for the last few years and really dig the vibe.
The other guitars I've had with a floyd have been Ibanez guitars and I always end up moving them on.

Normally I'd go with the Anderson as they are a known quantity but the M6 is about £800 cheaper here in the UK.
I know the SSH+ is quite a bit hotter than the H2+ the Anderson will come with but other than that are we talking many major differences?

The Suhr neck is a modern elliptical GG versus the Anderson even taper, fwiw.
Can someone who has experience with both help me out?

Thanks

The SSH+ is brighter than the H2+ and with a little less bottom, so even if it is hotter it may not sound like it.

Since you already have some Anderson's why not give a Suhr a try, the necks are comfy. Both make top notch guitars but the pickups are the biggest difference between them IMHO. Suhr's single coils are very much like a nice chimy, jangly single where as Anderson has a few to choose from. I've never tried the V singles he has but the SA's and SF's are really stacked humbuckers for hum cancelling and IMHO they lack a bit of that real single coil tone. For humbuckers I like the Anderson H2+ and the Suhr SSH+ and Aldrich. The Suhr's seem to have a bit of bite and the Anderson's a bit of smooth thickness and bottom.
