But your point is accurate, I don’t know how this will be undone…if even possible. It may take several generations and some pretty ugly times before it happens.

He'd be pissed, lol. He was kind of annoyed when I told him I'd never be voting but he got over it. I am conservative but don't believe in politicians. They are the lowest form of life. I have no issue with people who do vote, just like I have no issue with people who collect gear, but it's nothing I want a part of. It's for other people, not me.

It is indeed problematic. Abbott was supposed to and ran on property tax relief, yet they increase every year. Not a fan, but if it’s him or Talarico, Hot Wheels it is!!

I own multiple rental properties and a commercial building our restaurant resides in. Every year I protest the appraisals and in past years they usually work with us.

This year however with the AI boom we’re seeing and the lack of inventory and skyrocketing price per square foot, they haven’t budged much if at all.

5-10 years from now anyone who bought in the last year or two and the next few years will be completely underwater when the bubble bursts. Then there will be a debt crisis to mitigate. Those that understand this will be fine and make smart decisions, but most people are blissfully financially illiterate and will bury themselves in toxic debt and look for some sort of bail out on the backs of the tax payer.

I heard that the BOE borrowed using pensions as collateral, or something to that effect.

They started raising school taxes by what they need to balance the budget instead of going off a percent of property value, which is illegal.

Now they need even more money, I hear it's a big mess.

Not sure. I received breaks the past couple years based on state surpluses that were used to fund schools in place of taxes. It's ridiculous what the schools are spending though. My son had brought home a 7-8k Selmer tenor pro model for his band instrument. What happened to "student" models? The school band had it's own 18 wheeler with HS band logo on the trailer and a private driver. Ridiculous.

Yeah, especially since hays went blue in '16. They basically cheated and allowed students who are not technically residents here to vote so it went blue. Interestingly though, they went for a conservative sheriff cause the democrat was such a notoriously corrupt deputy he couldn't get any votes. They just dumped that POS judge becerra, the dirtbag who ordered the masking stuff here in favor of some other hispanic jewish woman. Also a democrat of course...
