Another Carlsbro Metal amp - Hermansson Amplification

[Hermansson Amplification]

I've rebuilt another Carlsbro amp! This was a Carlsbro CS60, a four-channel PA with spring reverb.

It's rebuilt to a one channel metal amp with an effects loop.
The controls are: three-way-mid-boost-switch, tightness, gain, bass, middle, treble, volume, punch and presence.

Old filter caps not need to be replaced after some years?

No, these caps measured as new (even better ESR than brand new caps!) after 50 years of service. Same thing with the tubes. I can’t see any reason to replace something that has worked flawless for 50 years and still shows better data than the things that are available today. But yes, you should always check and measure old caps since many of them have dried out over the years.
