Here's Journey's "Chain Reaction". Same deal Roy Nichol on Vocals, Drums and Keys. Don Lecompte on Bass. I'm recording the guitar while shooting the video. Closeup shots are during the solo track.

I used my LP with Suhr Aldrich pickups into my OD100se+ (Gain at 5, Master was set LOUD) and CAA 2x12 (V30's). Close miked with an Apex 435 and Shure SM57 into a Joe Meek TwinQ mic pre and a cheap Edirol UA 25 interface into Logic Pro 9. My Duet gets fixed next week!!

I used a Suhr Koko Boost and a Zakk wah. Waves and Logic Plugins were used for Delay. My G Major II is at TC being repaired.

I guess were are going to do "Tom Sawyer" by Rush next, then probably "Stone In Love" by Journey.

We aren't playing live at the moment so we are using you guys as the audience...lol. So have a beer or two :)

Great as always Mark. Not my favorate of theirs but I its cool watching you play it. Love that 2nd solo with the wah!!

Mark, as always, you're the man! Thanks for making it look so easy, confidence is such an important part of being a great musician and you certainly have it along with talent.

What happened to your Gmajor? Reluctor wheels? I replaced a set in mine, not an easy task for the faint at heart, but it works again and thats the best part. The switch in the center of the reluctor wheel is the tricky part, getting all those pins back through the holes and soldered well enough to get both sides of the plate-through holes re-commected to the circuit.

But I digress...as usual, great performance.

Ran into Neal Schon and his girlfriend on Melrose in LA yesterday. He seemed nice enough and I mentioned the love you guys have for him here on RT. He thanked me but was clueless as to what the gear forums are.

The G Major II would lock up and crash, screen would freeze and show strange characters and shit and would stop passing audio. I took the chip out and reseated and redid some suspect solder joints. It worked great for a month but alas went back to it's old tricks, so back to TC she went for repair.

You think a gear freak like Neal would check out the forums, I guess he has enough to keep him busy.

It's one of those tunes that didn't see radio play, but it had a sort of heavier edge to it, so we decided to cover it :)
I dig "Edge Of The Blade" too, just because it's heavier and darker than most of their stuff.

Thanks for the kind words, dude!

Ahh, your talent most likely surpassed its structural integrity, as I know you demand a lot of your gear.

Rush cover next - God love ya' If I send a dollar (american money) to your Paypal account, will you do Red Barchetta instead? :D

I can think of at least three good things to come out of Canada (although there's probably more ;) ), Rush, Shania Twain and Mark Day.

Rock on...

Great playing Mark. When are you going to break out the Suhr (guitar) for a go?

It's not your fault, so no worries  Plus, one Shania Twain negates a whole nursery full of Bieber's. Celine Dion, on the other hand, that's a hard one to offset :gethim:

I didn't know he was from the Great White North - my bad. Plus, I hedged my bet and said there were probably more. ;)

I live in the middle of a corn field - I'm seldom in the know

We got Dan Aykroyd from Ottawa also, it'll take quite a few more justins and a celines before we break even, let alone, require an apology.

So ya love the Aldrich's that much eh ? The Suhr is "on the shelf" until you get it re-loaded ?

WOW that says a lot about the pickups !
