So I have this star. It was a Grover Jackson Legacy Charvel and I hated the neck because it was so thin, so I had Musikraft make me a fatter replacement neck like I like them. Unfortunately, the Legacy neck is not matched well to the one they made and so there was a big gap in the neck pocket. Here it is:

I confirmed that the neck will fit a Warmth body correctly and ended up pickup up this to replace the star body (which I'm going to sell):

I'm having them cut it for a recessed floyd, two hums, volume and strat three way switch...

I decided to finish the headstock so the decal looks like silkscreen - started that already. Lacquer is done, just need to sand and polish:

Gonna use all the parts from this guitar with the new body...

It looks like it would fit, if you moved the neck further down into the pocket... Were the holes pre-drilled? :dunno:

That Warmoth body looks so nice, it would almost be a shame to route it. Can't wait to see that one completed.

I have enjoyed checking out all your builds Steve. It has motivated me to finally finish up a couple of my own. Your musikraft neck it going to look killer on my that warmoth body!

Correct - pre-drilled and I couldn't drill new holes without cutting into the existing ones.

Well... if ya don't route the body it's pretty useless, but I get what you're saying... I'll post it up finished...

Cool - would love to see yours when complete!

Cool stuff. I still have the same guitar from 1999.. lol

Is Bob gonna do the routing?

Nah, Warmoth will do it no charge...

Body is in. First thing was to use a magic marker to fill in the bare wood in the Floyd recess route so it won't show. Also had to fix a chip in the clear by the Floyd route with some Crazy Glue and Meguire's Scratch X. Not perfect, but I wasn't gonna send it back... Those are OX4 PAF clones that I have wound for me. Titanium Floyd that was on the Star... Looking' pretty good, no?

I decided on a different neck for this one as well:

Gonna have a Floyd shelf, 6105 frets and a satin nitro finish... The fretboard is Bocote, whatever the hell that is...  Rest is quartersawn flame maple...

The other neck is up for grabs... This one won't be here for 5-6 weeks...

Super way jealous. Very nice. I love star bodies, but damn that strat body and neck are smokin'. And that Floyd is a dream piece for sure.

I love the spalt with the flame. The light burst is nice too, since it sort of accentuates the figuring. Looks killer!

I'm getting one of the EVH Star guitars when they come out, so I didn't need this one anymore - sold the body already! The Ti Floyds are cool - the funny thing is how much louder your guitar sounds when it isn't plugged in...

That's gonna be badass, love the fretboard....

Thanks dudes!

Ok, I got the neck yesterday and went right to work doing a test build. Came out pretty nice! It sounds very loud acoustically, but I haven't hooked up the electronics yet (still waiting for a jackplate that USPS can't seem to deliver unfortunately).

Of course, I still need to take the guitar apart again to do a headstock logo/gloss headstock nitro finish, but here is what it looks like now:

I'll take better pics when I get the headstock logo done...

Looks nice. Too bad that control cover is so big.
Yeah, the cavities on those Warmoth bodies are MASSIVE!

That Bocote FB sets off that top vary well. It's a great looking guitar.
