Another solid Stryper tune (w/ video)......

In prep for tomorrow's release of Stryper's "No More Hell to Pay", here is a new tune w/ video. Sounds like another solid rock tune, should be a great album. Michael also shows off his Splawn Quickrod :rock:

 
Awesome! One of my all-time favorite bands are back with an excellent album. It's amazing these guys are all in their 50's.Not many guys can sing like Michael Sweet at his age.

His god fearing ways have likely kept him off the bottle and other vices which tend to burn out most people's voices when they tour and abuse their vocal chords. They also have Jesus in their corner sprinkling some of the good stuff on them don't forget..

No way that is the amp alone. Something is pushing the mid honk...

You think it could just be how the MKIIC+ graphic eq is set? I wouldn't know if a tone like that could come from that amp since I've never played one.
 
Definitely a great tune!

I am looking forward to hearing the whole package from Stryper.

Unless I'm being lied to/misinformed, it's straight Mark V with the mids pushed on the graphic.

All rock is rehashed blues riffs anyway. This song kicks ass. I'm glad they didn't start doing downtuned sludgy sounding shit and still know how to play a lead. I was never a huge fan but after seeing them live I'm going to buy this album. You know, buy it, as in not illegally download it.
 
ha! Now I have heard it all... "the drums are rehashed".. what drum beats aren't??!! Most guitar licks/riffs are rehashed already but drums are even worse! Tommy Lee played the same beat for most of the Shout at the Devil album, Dave Lombardo essentially plays the same 3 beats for the majority of Slayer tunes between the fills (one of my fave drummers so not knocking him), Scott Travis in Priest?? A drummer plays what is best for the song. You are also limited because you have the equivalent of 5-7 notes (depending on size of the kit) Double bass essentially has one riff... medium speed, fast, faster,fastest, then some dribbles or spurts or triplets... what else can you do with two feet. Drummers might be offended by this (I'm also a drummer) but let's be honest, there is no such thing as "fresh" beat anymore. :rock:
 
Going through the album right now at work. It's solid all around.
 
That drummer is great... always was. He reminds me of v foxx from enuff z nuff... another great drummer.

Are you serious? :confused:

I meant the drums are terrible (which they are) and the guitar riff is rehashed (it is horrible).

I used to dig these guys, but if that riff is all they got in 2013 it's time to go fishing.

It's just an opinion. Doesn't matter. If you dig it, cool. :yes:
 
So you mean the drums (production) are terrible and the guitar riffs rehashed? Ok that I can see.. I am just saying that the notion of "drum riffs" is what i questioned considering drummers ain't got a lot to work with! All good in the hood :)

Though I don't agree, I think Badronald is saying that the drums sound terrible AND the riff is rehashed. :thumbsdown:

I am glad to see them still doing it though. The business is tough these days and they are hanging in there. :yes:
