Another killer clip Mark, awesome! What verb type and how long is on that? Sounds tits!!!! Just curious on what guitar and pickup too if you don't mind. I have to have you mod or buy one of your amps...no one comes closer in my opinion, just great sound. Thanks

I'd love to hear one of clips dry and recorded with a room mic or camera or something just to get a sense of the difference micing makes and what your amps sounds like in the room.

thanks guys!

i was plugged straight in / sm57 / digi 002r / pro tools / the only thing i did inside pro tools was add verb using the built in plugin, D-verb. plate with 150ms pre delay.

the guitar used-

ill see what i can do but one reason i never use a camera mic or something like that is it kills all of the body of the tone.

When i record it its what i hear sitting right in front of the cab. in fact that's how i place the mic. i use my ears and eyes staring straight into the speaker while i play. once i find a place that sounds good i look to see where i'm hearing it, if that makes sense, and that's where the mic goes.

The verb is to give some air that you miss with a close mic recording. if you want to hear it dry just pan the left. The verb is mostly on the right.

It doesn't get a closer then that. I'd say you nailed it!!

No doubt. You just nail the EVH tone, or at least the perceived tone in the mix. I find myself curious as to what the amp sounds like in the room. And we're all very familiar with youtube-ized tones.

I would have liked to have been a fly on the wall in Eddie's recording sessions and just hearing the speaker cabinet in the studio.

Holy Shit Batman!!!! That is some awesome playing!!!   :m17: :m17: :m17:

Would love to hear a clip of the amps doing some warmer, classic rock stuff. Old scorp's, Cactus, Humble Pie, type stuff. Or even late 70's, early 80's Gary Moore type tones.
