Any BSG fans here?

I just watched yesterday's episode, and I have to say, holy fuckinchrist.

The writers should kill themselves after Battlestar is done, because they will never top this. I'll be sad to see the show go.

Agreed...although there have been some very poor episodes in the recent series...glossed over a lot of detail quickly and strung out the angst a bit too much.

I am a big fan, but I'm only on season 3 and haven't watched an episode in a while. I just downloaded season 4 though, so I will hopefully be catching the whole way up soon.

On a side note, I just finished watching Firefly/Serenity. Holy fuck, is that shit good. I haven't seen a TV show, even BSG, as good as Firefly and it was only 14 episodes. Have you guys watched that?

I'm a huge, huge Firefly fan. Just goes to show that the execs at Fox really do deserve to be ground into Torgo's Executive Powder. I mean, they have to be the dumbest people on earth judging by the number of DVD sales from Firefly/Serenity. If they end up canceling Fringe (which I suspect they will, despite J.J. Abrams' involvement), I'm calling it quits for them. I'm tired of getting involved in an awesome show written by brilliant people, only to have some dumbshit TV exec not "get it" and cancel it. I'm not sure why sci-fi writers even bother with Fox these days.

Hell, SciFi did the same thing with Farscape. The best series they've ever had prior to BSG.

I haven't enjoyed the past few episodes. There's so many untied ends and they have 1 freakin episode to sum it all up. Feels like were being ripped.

All i have to say is, what the hell happened to Hero's and the Sarah Conner Chronicles? Both shows have sucked monkey ass. Hero's has been pathetic for a while now though.

Firefly was great. I liked Serenity better than the last 3 Star Wars shitballs that Lucas threw together.

I'm probably the biggest Star Wars nerd ever, and I didn't care too much for the prequels either. Serenity was everything that those movies should have been. Great writing and a focus on the characters/story over special effects. There is a live action Star Wars TV show in the works right now though, and I'm really hoping that Lucas gets quality writers in there. I am sure I will be disappointed, but I would love for it to be basically Firefly set in the SW universe. At least I won't have to worry about it being canceled though. You don't just cancel George Lucas.

I heard that Sarah Conner Chronicles has been canceled. I thought the show was doing well ratings wise.

That would be lame. I still really like that show. Dollhouse is cool too, but I'm a huge Eliza Dushku fanboy.

You should really watch Firefly dude. I know you like the other Joss Whedon shows(maybe because of Eliza) but holy shit it is great.

That first episode was pretty good. I haven't been watching many shows on the computer though, except some new shows that I missed because of them being on at the same time as Pens games. The new season of 24 has been really good too, but I know you don't like that show.

I think Heroes had the unfortunately side effect of an entire season during the writer's strike.

I'm not sure what to think about the current season; Sylar just isn't as evil as he used to be, and without Peter's uberness, I'm just not sure what to think. Not to mention how little there's been of Hiro and Ando. Hiro without powers just seems... dull. Actually, it seems like everyone is without awesome power this season. Except for Parkman, and I've always hated his character (which could either be the writing or the actor). So far, the first season of Heroes is still the best in my book.

Never watched SCC, so I can't comment on that.

Ratings have nothing to do with whether or not a show gets canned. I really do think more executives need to be ground into Torgo's Executive Powder.

I'd have to say that Firefly is arguably Whedon's best work.

BSG is the bomb and so is Firefly. Check out Death Note from Japan. Just watched the live action movie (based on Anime) and it was awesome. I was smart and had the sequel right after it in my Netflix queue.

No, it wasn't getting good ratings, that's why they moved it to Friday's. I liked the first season, but damm, the show really hit the skids fast.

My friend is letting me borrow some Babylon 5 box sets  B5 is one of my favorite Sci-fi series and has some great space battles. You just don't fuck with the Shadows.

You will get no arguments from me  I think it is without question his best work. I think all his other shows have been solid, but not great. And Firefly(which I have decided to rewatch, starting about 3 hours ago) is beyond great.

The first episode I thought dragged a little bit the first time, but now I realize how wrong I was. I just didn't get into the characters enough. But now I have a partial mancrush on Captain Malcolm Reynolds and the rest of the characters just kick ass. It gets better every episode. But I guess Fox aired the episodes out of order and kept moving the night/time because of fucking baseball playoffs, then claimed nobody was watching. Bunch of fucking idiots :gethim:

I just flew through Death Note a couple months ago. Awesome show, but the last episode really let me down. I mean, Light is a fjorkin' ubergenius. There's no way he would've fallen that easily...

Aside from sports and cartoons, BSG is the only tv show I watch....great all around show. However, I feel like they are rushing this "final" season. I know that some of the main actors contracts have ended and they didn't want to return. What I'm hoping is: with the impending destruction of Galactica, they just kill these characters off and start a new series with the surviving characters on the Cylon baseship. Otherwise, I fear, this is just going to end with the inevitable "timeloop" ending where both races fall into a repeating cycle of hate/destruction forever.....lame.
