This is more like a wet dream that I will never fulfill but I was curious to contact a custom builder on pricing for an amp or even just a power amp.

Not sure who would do this or what it would cost but I have this extreme pain in my stomach for a power amp with 6c33 tubes as made popular by DAR.

If anyone knows a custom builder that I could bother please advise.

Email Robert. Great guy, very knowledgable. Will build just about anything you'd like.

Well I did email asking if he built custom, received an immediate reply stating yes and asking what I wanted.

I replied with the basic info and have not heard back yet   I am sure it is a pretty tall order, and honestly depending on the price it would probably not be realistic.

Really just wanted to inquire to see if it could be done and what the price would be.

I will update this if I hear anything.

Had you Emailed him prior to my recommendation, I guess??

Hopefully you'll hear back soon.

No actually, I first emailed him right after you posted. He said sure, what do you want. Then probably said this guy is smoking rocks when he saw my reply.

  Maybe not.
I needed a lot of help when/while designing my amp. I knew what sound I wanted but couldn't speak the language of electronics, capacitors, resistors and such. A few emails, drawings, and sound clips later, we were done. Really a cool, cool process.

Hope it works for ya man.

Sorry... but at this time, my builds are limited to amps based on the Marshall circuits of the 60s and 70s. Those are the ones that I have suitable chassis and parts to build.

I do see posts from some folks that have been building guitar amps using the 6c33 out there on the amp building forums.

Sweet well hey thanks for the tip. I will check that forum out and ask around.

I figured it would be hard to get someone to take the bait on something like this.

Small world though hey, everyone is on Rig-Talk I love it here.

I can recommend a custom shop in Europe that would build about anything however shipping to US is not cheap. If you're interested PM me.
