Any Difference in the original version HERBERT?

Hi Guys,

Thanks for your responses to my previous thread! I am about ready to make a move but I could use a little more information. I would love nothing more than to buy a brand new Herbert BUT I just really can't afford to get a new one right now and I am dying to get one..so my other alternative is to buy a nice used one. My question is are there any real differences in sound in the original version between model years. In other words I know 2001 was the first year, right? So does it sound different than say a 2008 model or does a 2006 sound different than a 2009 model etc... . I intend to own a version 2 later this year but right know I just have the need Any thought or input would be much appreciated......Thanks MM

I can tell you through my personal experience that 2007 models sounds little smoother than the 2010 which sounds for me very open, crushing and little rough and still quite warm (actually perfect for metal)

its said the very early models sounds very very extremeliy super tight but I never played one...

to get the right model for youself try to play as much herberts as you can

Mine is serial 001/082, so I'm guessing it's a pretty early one. Ch. 3 is significantly tighter than ch. 2, it's like a TS boosted version of it.
