I kept hearing about the ES-335 and how good they sound over these past few months. Saw Pepper Keenan playing one from a video of Down at Download 2009, and that got me thinking a little. Well today, I finally tried one out and HOLY S#!% it was awesome! Played through a Bogner Shiva, then through a Dual Rectifier on the orange and red channels. It wasn't as tight as a Les Paul, but it was damn near and every note was so thick! I'm pretty obsessed with it, and am really hoping to own one in the (near) future. I had a hard time putting this one I played down, and more than the sound was how amazing it was to play; everything I put in came out magnified, so much more than my ESP.

I'm wondering who else has played or owned these, and what your take on them is. Anyone using them for high gain stuff?

I have an Artstar AS120 for this...

The cleans and crunch are SOOO MUCH BETTER than a standard superstrat with a Floyd...

...but the dirt is almost too loose...def need to re-eq for it to work best.

all about the options!

Hellacopters / Dregen uses those. It`s not exactly metal, but hard rock.

339 new slightly smaller body is a great guitar. Seems odd or out of what I expected it to be when playing some metalish things on it. It sounds great, just does not match the image in my head to the sound in my ears. Rush did well using the 335s.

I've been using an AS-83 lately, and there is some juice to the notes. Killer guitars.

If you liked the ES335, see if you can fine a ES446 to try. You will be glad you did!

Troy Van Leeuwen (A Perfect Circle) makes one work...pretty well.
