For those with experience with USACG, have you ever had success emailing them? I have tried a few times and have not gotten a response...Seems as if they are not really that interested in making a sale  I am trying to find out more information about using woods outside of their standard offerings and who they may suggest for getting wood from (in particular, I want to use white limba).

On the Musikraft front, any experience is welcome but I am especially interested if anybody has gone down their set neck path? I have heard some concerns about their quality control, but maybe this is blown out of proportion?

I want to build a korina body mahogany neck/pau ferro fretboard rear routed super strat and am just weighing my options!

I don't have experience with either company...but there is warmoth also...maybe try them?

dont go to warmoth - they have changed alot since their first upcoming.

dollar for dollar even if musikcraft was more expensive, i would STILL use them for quartersawn maple necks. the quality is bar none incredible. i would take an old warmoth neck over them, but new warmoth customer service and wood quality isnt what it used to be.

i speak from experience with a AAAA birdseye maple neck ordered from warmoth that was so green it had a green tint to it and felt like plastic. that sold me sour on anything birdseye ever again and also on warmoth from now on. warmoth older necks are hard to beat and are great - i have played and have experience with them on both fronts.

I've had great experience with warmoth and musikraft. I bought a musikraft body and neck about a year ago and the fit was perfect. I literally bolted the neck to the body, installed the hardware & wiring and it played great...

That's actually pretty close to what I'm wanting to build, except I'm going to do a black limba rear route strat body with a rosewood neck and blank ebony board.

I have to +1 on Warmoth any more. I'll be trying Musikraft on my next build.

I know the guy who owns USACG ..... they make body's and necks for a lot of the large company's even if their name is never mentioned. These guys did work for Warmoth and left for good reason. It has been a few years since I have been to the shop .... so I have no idea what is going on now.

I have a couple USACG bodies but never dealt with them I bought off forums. I believe Roxy used to do the paint work for them and had a few bodies painted for myself. Musikraft makes killer necks and I have ordered quite a few from them. Easy to work with and top quality necks built to my specs. I would go Musikraft over Warmoth, although I do have a killer Warmoth neck.

ditto on that. 20 yrs ago they said you could tell them if you were doing a clear finish, and they would pick out a body or blank with no knots. a couple years ago when i did that again, they just sent me a blank with knots. apparently, nowadays having them pick out a body or blank is an extra $25.

i've also had the same no-reply experience with USACG.

Call Tommy or Rob at USA Custom!!
Their customer service is outstanding, and their necks and bodies are simply the finest quality.

THEIR COMPUTERS HAD BEEN DOWN for a couple of days, virus or something wiped out some hard drives!

I talked to Tommy yesterday, he had about 300 emails to catch up on, and no idea how many he lost!!
They are currently the busiest they have ever been, for good reason.

I've got a couple things on order for whenever he gets kinda caught up.
But give them a chance, they are good people, you can tell them that
JEFF from ARIZONA recommended them!!

I highly recommend Tommy @ USACG.

I have used them all with good success, but Musikraft did have a run of bad necks there for awhile.

I had Mikraft build a neck for a charvel rising sun i have ...neck came out perfect.... left a message called me back the next day to go over the specs... had my neck a few weeks later....

Totally agree. I called Warmoth the other week and I needed to put the customer service rep on hold for just 10 seconds and he hung up me. Besides they are not the only sheriff in town anymore to have to deal that.

I know Tommy at USACG has been laid up/sick for a while, more than a passing illness. I also know it backed up his email traffic a crazy amount. In two orders, I've had not a bad bit come from them, customer support has always been fantastic, and I've also bought three parts guitars used that originated with them, all killer. I'd like to think it's worth a second shot with them, if you can see your way to it.
