I never hear too much talk about Diamond Amplification. I have had a Phantom for about a month now and absolutly love it. Great heavy modded Marshall style tones, great build quality on par with other amps I have owned (slo, caa, cornford etc.)and awsome customer service . I really think it is an overlooked company. Ok discuss

Great question. I NEVER hear any talk on here about Diamond?

I agree I used to have a phantom and would buy one again if I coud get a great price on one. Super quality and it does have the marshall high gain tones covered.

I tried a few in a shop once, the dealer got in a big shipment of them and happened to run the only reputable guitar shop in that city, i was on tour and needed a few things. Anyway, just looked up the site because it was a while ago and I think the models were the phantom, nitrox & spec op.

If memory serves me correct, the phantom was my pick of the bunch, i didn't really dig the other two, they just didn't have the kind of voicing i go for in an amp. I got to try them through one of the diamond V30 cabs, it was really stiff sounding for V30's

The Nitrox is supposed to be a monster from what I read on it....

It does have a massive amount of gain on tap

kinda would like to know this myself.

are they grouped into the same category as krank?

i saw an LA designs rack they completed using one for cleans and i cant say anything bad about it. not much if any talk about them though. and i cant say i know anyone that owns one.

From what I have read about Krank, I don't see how Diamond would be grouped with them . I think Diamond are moving toward more of the boutique side of things, where Krank I don't believe is.

Heard Kerri Kelly use them live with Cooper and he sounded great (Spec Op I believe but his amps weren't on stage)...never plugged in to one myself.

I think they're great amps, and because they're not hyped, one can run into pretty good deals on used ones sometimes.

I roadied for Sevendust last year and Clint was running two Phantoms at once through two Phantom cabs. They sounded great, really cut through the mix and didn't muddy up.

Of course I've never heard him sound bad playing through anything so....

I've had a Phantom for a few years and love it, I don't do metal but it's my go-to for hot rod Marshall tones. It's even beat out my Cameron modded amp. May be time to let go of the Cam...

I thought Mr. Diamond was a former Suhr employee who ripped off the CAA designs.

Most forums aren't too Diamond-friendly because of this.

I've been wanting to try these for a while. Phantom looks cool for the modded Marshall sound. The SpecOp seems like something I would like too. Big and tight sounding, but not overly saturated. Cool stuff.

You just can't really get a good idea of anything that weird little freak demos out. Playing the same tired riffs and trying to explain the features on gear he knows little-to-nothing about.

And while I'm at it, he needs to learn that just because a guitar has a trem on it, doesn't mean he has to use it at the end of every passage.

I had the Nitrox.....nothing really special to me. It blew a tube and fucked up a tube socket (no big deal, it happens) My tech said the build quality was sub par........of course he says that about most amps. It was just ok for my tastes. Maybe the Spec ops is the better way to go. :dunno:
