I had a custom flying v guitar built and I want to order a case on line, but most sites do not show measurements of the interior of cases, only what type of guitar will fit the case, my guitar is 48" long from bottom of wings to top of headstock & the bottom of the V is 16/1/2 (16&half) I'm thinking maybe a BC rich V style would maybe work? but not sure, if anyone has BC Rich flying V or maybe gibson flying V could measure their case or guitar would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

FWIW, I just measured my Ibanez Blade V. It's 44" long, and it's 20" from the neck joint to the bottom (the body). The fins are 21" down the outside and 11" on the inside.

The Ibanez case for this guitar doesn't have any markings on it, so I figured it would be a good canidate. Doesn't seem like it would work for you, but I posted the figures anyways. If anyone uses the google, there's info. You're welcome, future internet users.

Hey thanks a lot for checking your guitar, but the length of my V is 48" from tip of headstock to bottom of both wings or where the strap lock is, and 16/1/2 at bottom of V or wings where strap lock is, across left upper wing to other wing that has no strap lock if that makes sense!? but thanks again!

As someone who has owned many whacky shaped, pointy guitars the solution is trial and error. You have to find cases and stick the guitar in them to see if it fits. Even if you got the dimensions right or you think you do it still may not fit. I had a ESP Kerry King V and no other V case would fit that guitar, some were even the correctl length etc... Just trial and error or you are going to waste a lot of money ordering cases.

Thanks for the info! I did try a couple music stores in my area guitar center only had one case in stock that I could try out & another local music store only had one V style case so not much to choose from just wanted to get a brand name maybe? from other V owners here to get me in the ballpark cause its looking like I have to order a case on line maybe a coffin case? it does not have to be a V style just one that the guitar will fit in for now! thanks again

The only case I could find to fit my ninja was one of those fucking coffin cases. Its enormous and flimsier than most other hard shell cases (might just seem that way because its gigantic), but it gets the job done.

You may want a custom case made for it. I have one for my Moser Bastard V bass and guitar Vs.

Is their anyway you could measure your coffin case and tell me model # maybe or just see if 48" x 16/1/2" will fit close enough to the coffin case you have? I have to get something for now! soon! Thanks alot!!

If you want something quick so you can take the guitar around, I would buy a bass case or gig bag. I had to exactly that for my ESP LTD Super V. Got a bass gig bag because no Flying V case would fit the darn thing.

I had to go with a Dean Razorback case. It fit my Mammoth Customs really well. THey are about the size of a bass case. Should be fine and they are built well.

Ill try to remember to measure when I get home. I will tell you that the bottom is more than 16.5 inches wide. I dunno about height, but I imagine its close. The one I got was for a bass guitar. Its seriously fucking enormous. Theres a little bit of space on the top of my guitar, but no space on the sides at the bottom of the wings. I tried to fit it into my buddys epiphone V case, and it wasnt even close. My V is gigantic.

If you can! cool I really appreciate it!!!!

I have a crazy long V I made with a sort of King V body and fits in a SKB V case with some extra foam I add on either side of the body. My guitar is a taller than a Marshall half stack with the wheels on and is 16 inches or wider at tips of the V. But you'll have to go out and try some cases.
