Youtube is kinda limited. I'm looking for more of a high gain Plexi-kinda tone, on a budget. The Budda SD18 & 30's are on my list.
Im looking to stay under $1200, and 30 watts or less.

Looking to add a boost for tightening, and extra oomph..

Great amps, I have owned a few. Not much on clips out there, I will look for some when I get off my ipad and back to the pc. Combo or head? I found the 18 to be a little more on the vintage side and the 30 to be slightly more modern and slightly more compressed, both def rock and I have not found many amps with that same punch as the Budda's. Good Luck with the search!!

As a matter of fact, the SD18 is in the forefront. I prefer vintage over modern, and am looking for a head.

I saw Baroness were using buddas before they went over the badcat. Toneful amps

years ago there was a demo of Joe Bonamassa demoing the SuperDrive 80 (can't remember if he did the 45 as well) but the tone was amazing. So much so that I bought a SD45 (pre-peavey). Was a pretty cool amp (sans the footswitch jack on the front of the amp).

If you don't mind buying used, there is an 18 (head) on the Gear Page for $675 shipped and it's up toward the top as it was just bumped up. Total steal man.

Sure thing man.......can't believe it hasn't sold at that price honestly. Good luck with the sale!!

I am real tempted, but I'm also being furloughed at work!!

I've got an SD80, but no clips, sorry. For what it's worth I use an EP Booster and a Timmy (with the smoother chip whatever that one is - 1458 maybe?) and they work nicely boosting the front end. Both do something different and do stack nicely. I run the gain about halfway on the Budda and play with single coils mainly. With the gain 3/4 of the way up, stacking doesn't sound so good, but each pedal on their own does. Great amps.

on a somewhat unrelated note i'd love to try the new skolnick budda amp, but apparently there are only two in the whole world...one is in skolnicks possession and the other one is in the peavey showroom in LA

good luck trying it or any other budda amp at the Peavey LA showroom though...not only do they have all the budda amps sequestered in one tiny corner but the staff there has a major stick up their ass (don't expect them to let you plug into anything unless you're skolnick himself)
