Any les Paul owners seen or tried this?

It looks like someone stared at the Moderne's gumby headstock a little too long and thought "Why the hell not?"...

If you get a new nut properly cut, the luthier should be able to angle the sting slots in the nut to face towards your tuning machines. That's what I had done with my replica 59 when it was built.

EDIT: sorry for the gigantic pics. Don't quite know how to reduce it...

I was curious so I bought it for my project '96 Dean ML.

Do I think it's worth it?
- Not at 46 bucks.

Does it work?
- It somewhat helped my ML due to the style of the headstock. I didn't buy it for tuning problems because the locking nut negates that. I bought it hoping to help the way the strings bend at a somewhat extreme angle on the nut, scraping the strings against the grooves and the screws of the retainer bar. I don't think trem-less 3x3 guitars need it. It may help in combination with locking tuners for trem equipped 3x3 guitars that do not have locking nuts. Again, at 46 bucks I don't think it's worth it at all especially if your headstock isn't the shape of an ML

Interesting idea but being a purist and pretty much an exclusive les paul guy, I had all the nuts on my lp's recut to take into consideration the string angle to the tuners with some nut sauce and never have tuning issues anymore. Even playing outside gigs in extreme humidity which used to wreak havoc. No more pings and can go all night.

Damnit! I built something almost just like that for a Les Paul I owned. Mine mounted in the truss rod cover screw holes, and brought the D and G strings in line with the nut, using rollers. That guitar was a dog, so I sold it and lost interest in taking it any further. If this guy sells a million of these things, I'm going to have a new "Biggest regret of my life".

So what's the concept?
To make the strings go straight thru the nut with no angle (less friction) and have that bend toward the tuners on rollers. A typ Les Paul has that angle at the back of the nut towards the tuners. If you cut the nut at an angle then you have that angle at the front of the nut.
