I have been thinking about moving all but 2 amps and that would be my herberts and also keeping 4 of the front loaded cabs and just moving everything else. including the friedman I just got.

Is there anyone else thinking about doing this?

OK, OK. In all seriousness?.....Kind of.

I have recently been dumping high gainers in favour of more vintage-toned, true "boutique" amps. This will be my second time on this particular merry-go-round, but I think it's where I will be happy. Plan on paring down to 4 or 5 amps when it's all said and done.

We should do a quick ampfest before you purge. 1. I want to try out some of the newer amps. 2. We would have video of the amps you're selling!!

Just the other night I was thinking about selling everything except the few pieces with sentimental value.

Ive started already.......Lots of work left to do tho!

i've never collected tons of stuff. when it comes down to it all i want is a stratocaster, plexi, two boosts, delay, tuner, wah and maybe a chorus. everything else doesn't really matter to me. that rig covers almost everything i do.

for a few days here and there i plug a stratocaster with a suhr aldrich into the triple rectifier. that rig is sick. :rawk:

Quality over quantity, there will be some museum pieces and sentimentality but everything else is going.

Yup, I've been cutting down on the number of pieces but upping the quality over the past few years and have been way more satisfied. I'm down to two rivera k-tre amps, one a combo and one a half stack, that are my main amps plus one smaller mesa boogie for flavor, guests, grab and go, and whatnot and then just one pedal board. I rarely play the boogie but it's nice when I need it and it keeps guests off my main stuff so I keep it around, it's a nice amp I just prefer the rivera. I play more this way and I enjoy when I play more. I've moved a lot of guitars and basses as well and probably should get rid of a few more but am down to the point where if I HAD to sell one I'm having a really hard time picking one so I think I'm just going to sit tight for a while and try again later. Hard to believe but I'm far happier with less stuff.

I have kinda been doing the same thing, not sure that I could get down to 4 or 5 amps though. My taste in music changes so much that I am trying to have an amp/guitars/pedals on hand suited to what I am digging at the time, I can play any genre that I am into at any given time while trying to ensure that I have the "best" that I can for that music, its a tough thing to do though cause things have to go that I have had for a while.
BTW dibs on the Elmwood M90

Already did it. Couldnt be happier.
2 kick ass cabs and 2 amps.
One amp is just a back up.

I'd sell everything but keep your best Marshall and the Mesa Mark III.

If I could get over my massive OCD, I'd do a proper gear purge but, alas I am stuck rationalizing why I need EVERY piece of gear I own as I am getting ready to list anything for sale which usually puts the kabosh on a real sale attempt :(

Due to my wanting a larger boat yes I have been thinging of a massive gear clearance, even the Natas.

I would end up with one great rig and several guitars to keep me happy.

Every guitar player should have a good Marshall.

That's what I did. 100 watt Einstein, Mark III a few guitars and a pedal board.

This is exactly how I feel. I am good with a versatile amp and a few guitars that feel and sound different (depending on my mood). Funny thing, that's where I am at right now.

If I didn't have to deal with shipping, PayPal, I could live with my YJM and sell my other three
