any old 80's punk rockers out there, besides me, I'm drinking whiskey tonite and just listening to some old tunes from back in the day 81-84, I saw most all the hardcore bands back in the day, Discharge, circle jerks, DK, TSOL, minor threat, saachrine trust, black flag(w henry rollins) fear and so many, many others, besides the local Portland Or scene, Poison Idea, Lockjaw, Redbadge, sado nation, the wipers.

just curious, there are so many great bands and songs, here is a taste of some of my ol faves
so many of those records were just one song into the next, they just flowed, you need to hear the whole album from start to finish to know what I mean
p.s. thats how I learned to play guitar, I started out playing punk

all of these songs are atleast over 28 years old
minor threat

Im into a bit of the old hardcore, not so much the straight up punk.
Black Flag, DK and Minor Threat still gets cranked a bit.

This is all I mostly listen too. 90s punk too. I play in a punk band. Its what I do :D

Growing up I had the black flad and DK logos (and anthrax too :D )written over everything owned. Leather jacket with 2" studs on the shoulders. Oxblood Docs....oh yeah dude

I'm right there with ya,bloody forehead and all,cut my teeth on punk.
Saw shows every weekend.
Discharge,Samhain, black flag, minor threat,GBH and so on. I played in a local Detroit band called feisty cadaver's,we toured the US a few times. Lots O fun.

I'm into punk and hardcore, but I'm not an older guy. Respect to the bands mentioned, especially Poison Idea and Discharge. I currently play in a d-beat band, which is a genre that was an offshoot of Discharge's style. We've covered some older bands like Doom, Siege and Infest.

Punk, hardcore, metal, rocknroll, it's all good as long it's loud fast and angry.

I was more 'metal/hard rock' back then, but this has always been a favorite of mine:

And Suicidal Tendencies. Of course, I'm not very good at determining particular genres, so these may not even be 'punk'...

Awesome. Awesome. Awesome.

Love all that stuff, especially when I was a kid in the pit! Don't forget Exploited, Misfits, Naked Raygun, Dead Kennedys, I'll even throw Murphys Law, older Social D., and Descendants.
I'll even throw Pailhead out there (Ian from Minor Threat w/ Al Jourgensen of Ministry.) Trait was a cool EP.

I know there are some other great ones I'm forgetting right now. I'm musically schizophrenic with a touch of "old timers" disease!

Forgot about naked raygun, that singer was CRAZY!!! Had serious issues, but they killed live.

  Man,I just saw Fear a few months ago,as a band my brother is in opened so I thought I would go check them out,man it brought back the memories!!!

Now I'm really feeling old!
I remember when ACDC was considered punk and you could only get their albums at the import record shop.....

East Bay Ray from the Dead Kennedys is one of my favorite guitar players

Still listen to them a lot same with The Ramones, Sex Pistols , The Decendents, Black Flag, Dead Milkmen, Fugazi, Bad Religion and The Misfits..

Being a skater punk in Honolulu was extra punk!
cranking the Jerks while tearing the local skate spot a new one or slamming to flag and pistols was so fun!

Yeah, of course, I was very much into punk back in the 80's. Also gotta mention the FU's from Boston and the Bad Brains among the ones that have already been mention. I love the rawness of the music and the power. I was so pissed when the newer "punk" bands of mtv came out in the early 2000's like sum41, good charlotte and that crap came out, it was so pretentious and Hot Topic ish.
The 80's hardcore punk was so cool because all the little towns from the east coast to the west coast had there own scenes with there own bands and alot of those bands became known nation wide too. In Boise where I lived for a couple years there was punk shows like at least once a month with sometimes touring bands stopping in town to headline. Some of the Boise guys later on formed Built to Spill which is a well known indie band to this day full of guys in there 30's and even 40.

Oh Hell yes.
East Bay Ray is a great player, an influence on me for sure. One of those guys you can recognize almost instantly from a few notes.

The Dead Milkmen were hilarious, and actually REALLY tight!

Bad Brains rocked too.

I was able to see raygun a few times when I was in highschool. Saw Pegboy too. Lots of skins at those shows. I remember getting my ass stomped by some little skins when I was 13 at a pegboy show.  fuckers

I was too young to see any of the 80s bands in concert but I listened to them constantly. Got to see some cool shit in the 90's though.

raygun pegboy descendents, misfits(with graves) rancid, bad brains, fugazi (not punk but related), bad religion, pennywise, even body count :D

The 90s were fun for me. lots of scrappin and fightin at punk shows

I saw Danzig last December 26th, he had Doyle and Dr. Chud open up for him with Gorgeous Frankenstein...
To my surprise they did a set as Gorgeous Frankenstein, Then the crowd was yelling Doyle and clap, clap, clap, clap clap, clap clap...
Then Michale Graves jumped up on stage and they did a 90's Misfit set ..

The Danzig encore was Doyle, Dr. Chud and Glenn.. with Tommy Victor doing Skulls, Attitude and Last Caress and Astro Zombies..

Made my life getting to see that live..

Pegboy had some good stuff. I liked the Fore EP and Strong Reaction a lot.
Basically Raygun with a different singer.
