Any pedal do the VH pitch shift as well as the Pitchfactor?

This was a sound I largely ignored but recently I was watching some vids of guys using the Eventide Pitchfactor for that sound and was impressed by how smooth and HUGE it made the guitar sound.
Could pull the trigger but the thing is $499, so wondering if anything is as good? I doubt it though.

Nothing else is as good in a pedal for that(or those) sounds. The pitch factor just nails it. I have one and love it in my stereo rig.

I saw an H9 for $260 on one of the Facebook gear pages about two mos. ago. That was tempting. I never buy new.

I have found that if trying to get this effect in mono, it works better just to raise the pitch instead of doing the typical +/- in a stereo rig.

Using a Helix, I raise +10 and it does what it should.

Check out the Digitech Luxe.

I spent most of my early years getting "close enough". Camaro instead of Corvette. Had Corvette motor and Corvette transmission. Close enough, right? Nope. Now I wait until I can afford the right gear. H9 is awesome! It is the sound on VH records. The H910 is all over VH II and the H3000 is Carnal Knowledge and Balance. I just set up a pedal board this morning. H9 is in the loop. Couldn't the stop playing VH II tunes. Love it! And I use it usually in stereo with my two Peavey 5150 half stacks. Today I was mono into my 5150 III 2x12 combo. Sure there's other detune pedals and effects out there. But after I bought a Corvette I'll never buy a Camaro again. Used H9 core is the way to go. You won't be disappointed. And it does so much more than detune harmonizer tones. It's a great effects unit.

The Pitchfactor has the same 910 setting, and it also has the Crystal Echos setting, which isn't included in the H9 Core.

I'd go with the Pitchfactor. Much easier to use too!

I'm no expert at the EVH sound but when I get the urge, I've been using a Neunaber Chroma Chorus in a stereo set up thats sounds quite good to me for the detune sound. I guess if you have a Neunaber you could download the chorus and try it out?
I'd love to get a H9 one day for the more genuine article.

I use the H9 control on my iPad. Puts the Pitchfactor right in my iPad and I control the parameters just like the pedal. Turn the knobs. Only on the iPad. If I didn't have that I'd say that the H9 is hard to use. Bought the H3000 algorithm recently. H9 is way more versatile. I'm thinking about a reverb algorithm. All Eventide algorithms can be bought for the H9. As opposed to buying say the Timefactor pedal and only getting delays and no ability to add other sounds.

Eventide definitely has the market cornered on a few things. I had 2 H9's and sold them, figured I only used a couple of algo's and it was overkill for my needs. Turns out there not a damn thing out there that does a micro pitch other than some Joyo cheapo things that I wouldn't trust. I should have done a better search for a micro pitch before I sold, but you live and learn...
