I just picked up a VHT 50CL and I would like to match it with the proper speakers. Just trying to see what's out there.

Nice score, I love my 50 CL w/ EQ and Reverb. The P50E's work out great with that head. I have a angled fatbottom VHT cab with P50E's. The epeakers are made by Eminence so you can check with them for a comparable speaker. I'd look for a VHT cab though, they're nice cabs and well suited for VHT amps

I actually liked V30's better with my old VHT 50 CL over the P50E's.

I favored v30 x 75 over a quad of p50e by far when I first got the cab.
However when I added the p50e and ran a full stack it was the most amazing thing ever.
The only problem is I couldn't do it that much due to the other guitarists rig not being that great.
I needed some cash and sold the VHT cab with the p50 but I hooked it up one last time and couldn't believe my ears. I actually really enjoyed it by themselves
Not sure of the harshness if the v30 x 75 had gotten to me over the years or if I subliminally just didn't want to sell any gear but the p50 were smoother and I really didn't want to sell lol...
Wouldn't mind having some again but they're definitely different and I probably wouldn't have those be my only speakers available to use.

I emailed Eminence about P50Es once (after I toasted mine), and they told me that the closest stock speaker is the Legend V1216. I ended up going with Wizards and couldn't be happier.
