I enjoyed GnR’s version of Junior’s Eyes. Metallica just murdered Hole in the Sky and especially Johnny Blade. God they have become a horrible band.
Metallica is hit or miss, James sounded terrible vocally here minus Battery. Hole in the Sky and Johnny Blade were just badlol, I bash Metallica as hard as anyone about how terrible they always are live, I actually thought they sounded at least decent though
We’ll never see his like again. I’m glad there’s at least a decent amount of concert footage of Iommi and some of our other heroes who came up in the 70’s, because it’s really something special and I’m hoping younger people coming up can even get a half a sense of how good and powerful these players and bands were.Show was a joke, IMO, BUT...... while evrybody is praising Nuno and a few others for "nailing" whatever solos, all I can say is- f&cking Tony Iommi.
Somebody uploaded the Sabbath set in great quality. I grabbed it and the video got taken down. It's on my FB page. I can't upload it here.
Iommi. Four stacks of Laneys. He is the most powerful Hard Rock/ Metal player, IMO. He has the power. The others, for all their technique can stuff it.
He sounded MASSIVE. Anything he plays sounds like it was blessed by the Gods of tone with his command of sound, space, power.
These others are wheedly masters, but everything Iommi plays is Hammer Of The Gods all over it.
I think for some reason he was tasked with being the musical director or organizer of the supergroup bandsI'm surprised Tom Morello was even there. I don't think he can even play any Ozzy or Sabbath tunes. He just kind of stood there strumming most of the time.
My guess is he volunteered to organize the supergroup part, because that's the only way he would've been invited to hang around with REAL musicians.I think for some reason he was tasked with being the musical director or organizer of the supergroup bands
That's what happens when you play Laney - hammer of the gods.Show was a joke, IMO, BUT...... while evrybody is praising Nuno and a few others for "nailing" whatever solos, all I can say is- f&cking Tony Iommi.

I’m not a fan of his commie love agenda but I think he’s a talented dude… I love a lot of rage against the machine songs and he definitely can write some killer stuff. He just takes himself a little too seriously at times I think. My guess is he volunteered to organize the supergroup part, because that's the only way he would've been invited to hang around with REAL musicians.
HA HA
I do actually dig his tone and rhythm playing on the RATM stuff quite a bit. Also the drums and bass are killer.I’m not a fan of his commie love agenda but I think he’s a talented dude… I love a lot of rage against the machine songs and he definitely can write some killer stuff. He just takes himself a little too seriously at times I think.I can separate the music from the other stuff…
Nuno was absolutely the MVP of this game. One other thing I just saw is the Steven Tyler / Nuno dealio.
I'm not much of an Aerosmith fan nor really even a Tyler fan but that guy nailed it at 77 years old. And freakin' Nuno...star of the day.
Tyler needs to do a supergroup touring band doing Smith and other covers and start with Nuno on guitar and Smith on drums, hell I'd go see that.
I saw RATM a few years ago and was amazing! I separate myself from all of it. I have a RATM patch and Ted Nugent patch on my rocker vest, and they are both polar opposites but part of the rock story.I’m not a fan of his commie love agenda but I think he’s a talented dude… I love a lot of rage against the machine songs and he definitely can write some killer stuff. Dude Steven Tyler was crazy good, that was probably the most shocking part of the whole showOne other thing I just saw is the Steven Tyler / Nuno dealio.
