Anybody else like Overkill

I was never a huge fan, but I thought it took some balls for them to call out Metallica as "pathetica" and poseurs in their their album liner notes for Feel the Fire. This was right around the time when Metallica released Master of Puppets (1985?). I don't remember the exact quote. In today's state of Metallica drama, it's no big deal, but back in the late '80's, it took some guts to call-out metallica as Pathetica.

I have the vinyl for Feel the Fire. I'll have to check that out. Don't remember them bashing Metallica, but they were dissing another band, Queensryche I believe.
 
I found my CD. I guess it's not as blatant as I remember. Some of the notes...

best live metal show i've ever seen. i've seen them several times. on the "killing kind" tour, one of the guitar players used a humbuckered strat through a triaxis. it sounded huge. i told Blitz that i wanted the guitar gig if his guys didn't work out. he laughed

Sounds like they are calling out bands that have stuffed them round? :dunno:
