Stew Mac has some nice specialty tools, but they're out of their mind on pricing. You could pay their $81 for a notched straight edge, or one from ebay that does the same thing

Check ebay first. They're a lot cheaper. I watched a bunch of youtube vids, and did some Googling. I enjoy, and have confidence when I do fretwork. I started with some cheap necks first, which I also bought on ebay.
